Both of these series involve a character getting involved in some extravagant and insane plot, in a world where weird and paranormal occurrences are seen as completley normal to everyone around. Both stories are tied together by wonderfully original art styles that make the story feel like something straight out of a fever dream.

Both have a death focused story plot and are focused on otherworldy beings.

Both involve a male protagonist who is struggling to understand the suddenly confusing world around them. Both are accompanied by an abstract humanoid figure visible only to themselves (Challia v. Memory) Both include themes of delving into the SELF and discovering their place in the world. Both have settings of mostly non-modern-Japan. Sekisei Inko mostly focuses on finding his identity, uncovering memories past, while Kurayami Dance is about the value and significance of life and death.

Both have very defined art styles and surrealistic story tendencies with a focus on death and what the main character left behind when they died.

Both share pleasing to look at artstyles, character designs and visuals as well as being able to be finished in a single sit through.

Voynich Hotel takes very blatant inspiration from the works of Suda51, particularly Flower, Sun, and Rain, so one should definitely look into Suda's works if they want to see where Voynich originated. I'm referring to Suda's works in general here (which are mostly games), as KD came out after Voynich, but even KD has its own arc based on FSR so there are some eccentric island hotel stories to be found there as well.
