Natsu no Yuugure (夏の夕暮れ); Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso DVD/Blu-ray Vol.1
A young Kousei Arima is asked to play the piano in front of a crowd for the first time. Excited about the opportunity, Kousei invites his two best friends, Tsubaki Sawabe and Ryouta Watari, as well as Tsubaki's grandmother to attend his performance. But while Kousei becomes complacent with practicing, Tsubaki's grandmother suddenly passes away, which sends the young girl on an impromptu journey to find the Seed of Life that might bring her back.

Kousei's first piano recital is set to begin, but all he can think about is how to stop Tsubaki from crying. As he takes the stage, Kousei decides to play a song that evokes the feelings of Tsubaki's late grandmother in hopes that it can soothe her.

However, collaborating with the boy proves more challenging than she anticipated, and Chabo wonders if they will ever reach a point where their styles do not clash.

Kaori Miyazono was born an unruly girl who did as she pleased. With her fixations and interests constantly changing, it was a rare chance to see budding piano prodigy Kousei Arima that led her to abandon her piano career and take up the violin instead. Dreaming of accompanying Kousei in the future, Kaori begs her parents to buy her the instrument, but they will only comply if she learns to take more responsibility for herself. Determined to get her hands on the violin no matter what, Kaori begins the difficult process of growing up.
