The second arc of "Wolf Magic" (Ookami wa Mahou wo) reminds me of "Sayonara, Itoshi no My Friend". There are no similarities with the characters personalities, story settings or uke/semes, but I found that they are similar because of the plot structure. The noisy/popular guy pushes his friendship onto the quiet/aloof guy and eventually falls in love with him but can't break through his naive shell to get him to understand his feelings. In both, the spacey/quiet characters slowly figure out that they like the noisy guy after they stop spending time with them, due to the noisy guy cutting of their friendship because of his suspected one-sided feelings getting hurt. "Wolf Magic" has darker emotional drama compared to "Sayonara, Itoshi no My Friend", where the noisy/popular guy, Nagase, has some emotional history around his sexually where in "Sayonara, Itoshi no My Friend", neither persons were gay to begin with. The art is also clean, fresh and modern in both mangas and very appealing. read more 

The first arc of "Wolf Magic" (ookamu wa Mahou wa) called "The Water of Love For the Withered Flower" is about a guy who has a stern face and works in a florist. He has a tough attitude and appearance that scares anyone who doesn't know him. He is also an aloof character, similar to Haruhiko from "Markai Darling", however, Haruhiko is more of a pervert than a distant character like Hanasaki. Both stories are based around people who work in a florist. Both also having pairings between a older manager and the younger assistant/customer/friend. The differences are that in Markai Darling, Haruhiko knows that he wants Takashi and forces his love onto him where in "Wolf Magic" it's the other way around; Hata (the customer) forces his feelings onto Hanasaki (the florist manager). Both are nice stories with some mild drama, comedy and romance. Both also have nice fresh art that is appealing.  read more
