Manga: Onanie Master Kurosawa
Superficial similarities in that in both titles, the story starts with the protagonist in an unused restroom in school. This is where the anti-social protagonists of both stories go to every day to secretly pass some of their time. However, the genders are reversed in that in one, the MC is a male who secretly goes to the unused girls' toilet while in the other, the MC is a female who secretly goes to the unused boys' toilet. Both titles are also original doujin manga.

Short one vol. Long series that compile various one-shots from one artist and gives a look at the style of the mangaka, besides both have at least one chapter/story that was made into a serialised comic later on.

Manga: Ase to Sekken
Weirdly Wholesome? But in a good way! They both had extremely odd (almost fetish) story concepts and sounds like its right out of a romcom. However the art styles combined with its more simplistic approach gives the stories an unsuspecting, but pleasant warmth. Waning: “Ase to Sekken” is more foe older teens b/c of the more steamy scenes.

Manga: Gorgeous☆Irene
How dare you recommend Araki's work with this moe bullshlt?! Yeah, not much likeness of these two in substance, but both are compilations of short stories (almost all one-shots) made by one mangaka, easy to read, gives a look at the style of everything of the artist, are one vol. Long and at least one chapter of each has cowboys and are West related, so there's that.
