I'm only picking one main recommendation, but honestly, if you're a fan of Red River, you will likely LOVE Chie Shinohara's other works. In my opinion, she is best known for writing a good romance as well as a great suspense and action. So, if you liked Red River, delve into her other stories and you will be pleasantly rewarded. I would have to say Ao no Fuuin was very strange for me at the start because Akira looks exactly like Kail, but he doesn't act like him very much even though they both are in positions of leadership. Another fun thing is seeing random character designs who eventually appear as main characters in Red River (keep an eye out for Ursula and a Kash look-a-like [Kai, I think it was]). Both are epic fantasy romances told by an excellent artist although prepare for a lot more blood with Ao no Fuuin. (AnF can be found at Storm in Heaven scanlations. ;) ) read more 

They are both fantasy mangas from the same mangaka about supernatural creatures connected to ancient myths. Both have some action, romance and highschool girls suddenly facing changes in their body. 

The main character (guy) in Ao no Fuuin has a main objective, and it is to kill the main character (girl). However, he fell in love with her and so did she. In Tokyo Juliet the main character (girl) aims to surpass the guy who stole her design. And she ended up falling in love with that guy's son. Of course, the guy also fell for her. 

To start off, their genres both include shoujo and romance. They both seem to be fantasy and supernatural. Bara to Juudan seems like a shorter version of Ao no Fuuin. Bara to Juudan is way shorter compared to Ao no Fuuin. Bara to Juudan is only 1 volume while Ao no Fuuin is 11 volumes. Let's start with some similarities: -Both heroines gain a special power at the age of sixteen. -Both heroines gain a human killing power -Both male leads are ordered to kill heroine -Both male leads fall in love with heroine -Both have beautiful and strong female leads Now some differences: -Bara to Juudan is about vampires while Ao no Fuuin is about demons. -Ao no Fuuin has love triangles. -Ao no Fuuin has some mature stuff in it -Ao no Fuuin was published in 1992 while Bara to Juudan as published in 2011 There are more differences you discover as you read. I can't discuss them here because I might spoil a couple things. I was pretty doubtful about reading Ao no Fuuin because I'm not really into reading manga published so long ago. However, I read a review saying it was really good so I gave it a chance. That review was right. After reading a couple of chapters, I couldn't stop reading. I had read Bara to Juudan before Ao no Fuuin. After reading a couple chapters of Ao no Fuuin, I saw the similarities between the two. read more 

Both stories involve a girl one day turning into some kind of monster and being hunted down for it.
