Synopsis

This novel was written by Mashimo Kouichi, who directed, produced, and wrote the script for the 1997 anime, and illustrated by Toshiharu Murata, the character designer from the same adaptation.

It shares the same worldview as the 1997 anime, and many of the original characters from that adaptation reappear in this new story. It is written from the perspective of Cyrene Garbo, a guest character from the anime's first episode, "The Glass Wall".
