This was a pretty good and dramatic read. Now was it perfect? Of course not. Did it have room for improvement? Yes. But it was still an interesting read none the less. The art style was really beautiful - and the erotic scenes were of course the best parts. I can definitely see why Chan-Ok Cha would become broken after all the terrible things that happened to him. I mean, his family abandoned him, his inheritance was taken away, he was betrayed by those he trusted, and his stepfather (Kwon-Ho Cha) wasn't the man he thought he knew; and was no better than the others.
...
Chan-Ok tried his best to be a good man, a good father, and a good husband. But it was all for not, as his family was just too broken. Heck, his older stepbrother (Chanyeol Cha) cared for him in the very beginning, but would eventually become a stranger to him - he was probably the first person to turn his back on Chan-Ok. To make mattered worse, not only did Chanyeol take away Chan-Ok's inheritance and push him out of the company, but took his ex-wife as well. Minyoung Lee was almost just as terrible, because she berated Chan-Ok about everything he was doing and not taking any responsibility about everything she did (which was so much worse) - and went as far as to manipulate and lie, and allied herself with Chanyeol to destroy what little Chan-Ok had left. It is even revealed that the son she had, wasn't even Chan-Ok's...but Kwon-Ho's. Even all their kids were simply messed up. They came off as spoiled, selfish, arrogant, ungrateful, self of absorbed, etc. - just like most of the adults.
Yoon-Hee (who is without a doubt the sexiest woman in the story) convinced Chan-Ok to take revenge on everyone who wronged him. And while I was glad to see Chan-Ok still had moral despite everything that's happened, I wish he would have done a better job at getting his revenge. I would have preferred if he took Yoon-Hee and Hyunjin on their proposals - having regular sex with them, as well as allying with them on making plans together; seeing how all three of them wanted revenge on the same people. I was glad that Jae-Hee Shin, despite being younger than him, was always supportive and encouraging on her part. And I liked that despite her obvious affection towards Chan-Ok, he waited until he was sure that Jae-Hee was absolutely positive about him. The relationship between Chan-Ok and Jae-Hee was very realistic because of how much time and effort was put into their chemistry. It didn't feel rushed, and they seemed to work well together. With Jae-Hee, Yoon-Hee, and Hyunjin, I feel like it could have given Chan-Ok a sense or presence of power. Maybe having Chanyeol's secretary into the mix. And while I would have liked to see Minyoung lose everything - the final touch could be her becoming Chan-Ok personal slave; forcing her to work until she paid for everything she committed (though she does deserve worse). With all these women (along with The Assemblyman), Chan-Ok would definitely keep getting the upper hand, and the women would always give in; after all, they'd experience "erotic pleasure" like never before. Also, it wouldn't surprise me if they all ended up falling for Chan-Ok - seeing how he saved them from a terrible life. In fact...I encourage it. Let Chan-Ok bask in the glory of this taboo.
I would have preferred if Chan-Ok really got his revenge on "everyone". Not only exposing the corruption and immoral acts committed by Chanyeol, but everyone who he was tied too - ruining all their reputations, and sending them all to prison for the rest of their miserable lives. Heck, I was surprised that The Assemblyman didn't have Chanyeol killed after finding out what he's been doing to his only daughter (Yoon-Hee). Chan-Ok could have also cut off Minjae Cha and Minseo Cha completely - until they came to appreciate everything they had, and admitted that they were in the wrong. Not taking anymore crap from anyone - including his own family. The only person Chan-Ok would decide to spoil...would be himself, with all the money and connections, and his harem of loyal women. Although Chan-Ok would have a dark presence with him...Jae-Hee would always be there to bring him back. That way he wouldn't completely become the monster that Chanyeol was. It also would have helped if Chan-Ok secretly took self-defense lessons in "Hapkido" and "Tang Soo Do" - that way he would be able to defend himself and his allies.
