Both Takei works,and both have a similar design robots(called Jumbor in Jumbor[d'oh]and Karakuridoujis in Ultimo[double d'oh])and similar tranformation of parts of the body to weapons.And made by a mad scientist(Dr. Occult in Jumbor,Dunstan[Lee] in Ultimo. 

Although both series deal with alot of different things, you can enjoy both cause they give off that same vibe, that same feeling. There are similar characters, and the action is good in both. 

Same artist and has a similar super natural feel, the only difference that i really feel present is that souls are exchanged with mechs
