There's honestly nothing much I can really say about this. The start of it plays it off as a So I'm a Spider, So What?-esque style manga, with evolutions and stats and skills and a desperate fight for survival.
And if they had kept doing that, I honestly woulda liked it, I love that kinda stuff.
But instead evolutions go by so quickly, level ups aren't major things but glossed over dozens of times for comedic effect. it really does feel like the author decided to toss that aspect out once they realised it'd be too hard to write.
The brotherly relationship with the other fish is
...
again good, but ends too soon. And then you think he might be helping the slave girl but nope they split up. Then they stumble into a whole conflict with oni and a civil war in another kingdom and it begins to feel like the creators are just throwing everything that other popular series did into a blender and hoping for the best.
There was a real unique idea here of using an aquatic environment to tell a story about struggling through evolutions, and that could have been amazing. Instead we rush through seven or eight ideas before the MC ends up feeling like a side character in their own manga.
It had potential, and maybe the author can bring it back from where it is currently, but until a lot of people tell me that's occured, I'm not going to bother reading any more.
