Synopsis promises a troubled protagonist with a dark past fighting through dark circumstances. This is not this.

I could not read more than a few episodes with how frivolous her circumstances were treated. She’s at risk of all kinds of abuse but she’s chipper and happy? To grow up as a slave means to grow up as an object but this girl is going around making decisions and dissenting like she’s God’s gift to man. It just doesn’t make any sense. And for some reason it’s an isekai?

I tried giving it a chance, but it’s just generic shoujo pretending to be dark: disappointing.

So….. after that last chapter (78), things became clear to me. The archduke is a crazy asshole stalker. He is unhinged. I should’ve known better from the beginning, but there were signs that he could improve. Instead, he got worse. First, he one-sidedly falls in love with this woman and has a bunch of expectations for her even though she doesn’t know anything about what he’s feeling, and he kind of knows this. This wasn’t too bad, but it gradually got worse esp at the end. Everything mostly went off the rails after he confessed to her. He just said “I love you I love ... you trust me I want to be with you forever” but didn’t explain where his feelings came from, why he felt that way, or how they would be able to end up together. He knows and laments about her situation bc he put her there, but is not considerate towards how she would feel to be in a relationship with him, who is so far superior to her he could honestly do anything to her and no one would really have a problem with it, bc she is his SLAVE. If you want her to be able to respond to your feelings, either elevate her position, or abdicate your own and set up for yourself and show her you can be independent and content with nothing, so that she’ll be more of an equal to you and can feel more at ease in marrying you. Instead, he gets mad that she accepted a proposal even though it obviously happened before he confessed to her, got so upset he threatened her, grabbed her wrist, and screamed at her, and accused her of betraying him when there was 1. No obligation for her to accept and 2. No guarantee for her that if she DID accept, she could trust him. Why should she trust him? He kept getting mad that she didn’t, but in a few months he could say “never mind!” And just drop her back to being a slave, or even decide to kill her. Regardless of how YOU feel, she doesn’t know bc you haven’t explained it AND she’s not in a position to believe you will stand by your word. He acted like she betrayed him when she had NEVER accepted, and put her in the worst position imaginable because as a slave, she has no position to either refuse or accept him. It’s disgusting.

I only ended up reading a bit more before dropping, this is SO not worth reading.
