The two main characters are drawn nearly the same and Haruhiko's best friend looks exactly like Gokudera- minus the dynamite. The two have action in them. The two main characters are also incompetent.  

Both of these serialisations maintain a rather adolescent take on ninja characters. 

Both feature characters who have left their traditional lifestyle in the mountains to living a contemporary one in a small town. They both lack contemporary social sense, and often find themselves in misunderstandings. As such, comedic situations are plentiful.
