If you want something to not take to seriously and laugh yourself silly with some of joke. This is the manga for you.
I have not laughed this hard on a manga for a while and the 17 translated chapters that I have found is not enough. I truly enjoyed this manga and the anime seems to be doing it justice so far. Time to go get the light novel.

Review of the world itself: It was not explained or explored all to well in the 17 chapters so far yet. but the parts that have been explained makes sense in terms of what is ... expected of an adventurer and how they train. The Other parts have not been explorer much at all. like the barriers to keep the monsters out of towns or the magic as a whole. or what is required to unlock the skills other than you have to practise a lot and have some luck I guess. The MC has no massively OP skills... by the worlds standards... He just trains excessively

The flash backs of the characters give some details of their past and what their motivations are but you don't really get to know them deeply as of yet. The MC is different though (go find that out for yourself :D)

The events in this story are all really well written and abused for comedic purpose (in a good way). I could not feel the weight of the events that happened until later when it was explained why they acted the way they did.

The person that wrote this loves to use physics on the MC in brilliant ways that really add to the story.

Again if you are looking for a serious story this is not the one for you, but if you want a fun light read, that will take you for a ride in some fun ways this is the one for you.

I don't think I can recommend it even if you are here to see a catastrophe. Turn back now.

Story:
I can summarise the first ~3.5 years of manga publication quickly, and probably spoil nothing of value (because there is nothing of value).

For the first 8 chapters (1 year), MC is introduced as a parry god with the twist that he downplays himself. This seems like a comedic bit, but the author is dead serious and it gets tiring after hundreds of pages. By the way, this sole character trait isn't even consistently portrayed. The extent of MC's backstory is that he can parry 1000 wooden sticks ... and something about poison resistance. Meanwhile the side characters are paid actors that can only talk about the MC. No one gets characterisation unless it is in service of the protagonist, and it's ridiculously mundane the few times they do.

It's plenty clear that each chapter was written with zero foresight as to what the next chapter holds or what the story should be, so each chapter just throws some new minor predicament at the MC just to keep the publication going a little longer. It's just... soulless.

For the remaining 17 chapters read (+2.5 years), the author runs out of steam. MC parries 2 weapons of mass destruction in 2 chapters back-to-back. There is some "plot", but really nothing happens. The same battle is still going.

Art:
I can only complement the art for being a cut above others... in the same genre. However, it hasn't been used to convey anything to save the story itself, like emotional depth, world building, etc etc. So no bonus points will be awarded here.

Final thoughts:
There was never any doubt that it would be bad, but I couldn't have expected something this bad. Even by mass-produced power fantasy standards, there was nothing in this that could be of any worth. I couldn't even sense any of the intent or ambition you find in similar works that fall flat. Instead, this was directionless and purposeless from the start and won't be ending anytime soon.

Well, here's hoping the upcoming anime will at least be paced well enough I can laugh at it instead of pitying it the whole time.
