Though the sports are different, one being basketball the other being volleyball both main characters meet their biggest rival in junior high on another team and end up in the same school and team in high school. The relationships are also quite similar though one is less friendly than the other... If you like one, you will probably like the other as they are both great manga. 

While one is about basketball and the other is about baseball their main characters are very similar in the way they influence others around them. The game scenes get your heart pumping and it makes you always cheer along with i. Well, both 'bout basketball, and creating a new team from the scratch... Also, main characters in both have some family problems regarding their 'style' of playing and what they want to achieve, and especially how...  

basketball, and also Hiiragi is a bit similar to kyou-chan... both with looks and attitude.
