*I'm only basing this on the main story, not the one shots. I think it's only one chapter.*
Good grades and good health? No boyfriend. Boyfriend and good health? No good grades. Our main heroine has it all, except for a b-o-y-f-r-i-e-n-d. Study is a typical shojo manga about a girl who has good grades, but now wants a shot at love. We all know how that will turn out!
It's your typical boy meets girl through brother type of story. Then some type of conflict happens and then ....yeah you know the drill. It touches on the subject of the feeling of comparing yourself to
a boyfriend's/girlfriend's ex (jealousy). Though the summary seemed interesting enough to grab my attention, I couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed. All in all, it was still an OK read before bedtime.
It's not the modern type of art that we see nowadays, but the cute "chibi/pouty" drawings make up for it. But hey, this was drawn back in the early 2000s so there's nothing to complain about. To be honest, I grew to like the art a bit at the end. I don't know, but that's just me.
I felt that the guy should've had the guts to.. never mind, spoilers! But I thought he could've been a more ballsy character (not cocky!), you know what I mean? The main character was like any other shojo heroine: jumps to conclusions. I don't know about you, but I kinda get tired of reading about weak heroines and would really like a gutsy and strong heroine, and fortunately, there are mangas like that, and if you're looking for one in this manga, this isn't the place, buddy.
Despite me giving out 7s left and right, I still give this manga an 8 because I felt I could relate to the main heroine; You know the type, nerdy girl but not quite nerdy? One minor suggestion: If they gave her glasses, it would've been more believable if she was really a "nerd/smart girl" haha.
Not a lot to brag about, this manga. But I still enjoyed it, despite it being cliche. There are plenty of other great manga out there that are better than this, but it doesn't mean this one's really bad. I usually read manga where the characters in it are ones that I can really relate to/their situations are similar to mine, and I kinda found it in this manga.
I hope you enjoy reading this manga!
