Synopsis

The series is about a young boy named Hiori who leads a double life as the mysterious thief known as "Pokemon 7". Pokemon 7, along with his trusty partner Lucario, retrieves stolen objects from other thieves and returns them to their rightful owners.

During the day, Hiori works at the bread shop Sun-Sun. His co-worker, Nazuna, is a Lois Lane-type character who falls in love with Pokemon 7 while not thinking too highly of Hiori.

Background

Kaitou! Pokémon 7 was published in English as Phantom Thief Pokémon 7 by Chuang Yi Publishing in June 2009.

I’m a pretty big Lucario and Pokémon fan, capable of dealing with some incredibly childish and stupid manga, but even I could barely make it through this. Let’s just say there’s a reason it’s only one volume. The art at first seemed somewhat unique, based on the cover, but the actual manga art is a joke compared to the Pokémon Adventures manga. The faces just kind of look like a ripoff of Slayers (of all things) except with none of the amazing facial expressions, awesome fights and sick magical attacks of that manga.
