Even though the plots are completely different, they gave me a similar feel. Ai reminded me of Yui, because even though both can be kind of mean, they also saved the main girl a lot, and tried to hurt her feelings but instead ended up getting a completely unexpected reaction.

The main lead Kei in Honou Gakuen is a mix between Kureha and Mashiro. Kei is a androgynous female who really just wants to have a cute girlfriend, but it never seems to work out when they learn she's a girl. Depsite dressing in a boyish style herself, Kei is afaird of guys and just thought of them makes her want to throw up. Her mother wants her to act more like a girl and sends Kei to an all boy school enrolled as a boy. Kei can't have anybody know her true gender and tries their best to pretend they are a guy. Houou Gakuen is more  read more

Both manga has a very similair feeling. The girls are forced to cross dress. And no one can find out that they are a girl but one peron already knows that they are a girl. So if you liked one, you will love the other because they are really good and very similair stories.

Both series are about Girls who cross-dress as guys on there own volition. Boy of the Female Wolf is more of an action manga, while Houou is more about self-discovery and soul searching. I highly recommend both series.

These two manga are quite similar, in both enjoyment levels and art. The plots don't really have anything in common, other than the gender bender factor. In one manga (Houou Gakuen), the main character is interested in girls and is sent to an all-boys academy in hopes of abolishing this interest. However, in The Substitute Count's Adventure, the main character has to crossdress in order to throw suspicion off from her brother, whose position she is taking over. I guess both manga exude the same vibe, so you could enjoy one as well as the other...

Both the comedy in the mangas are somewhat the same so it always makes me laugh, but HGS is more romantic. The art they do is similar as well. I recommend you check out either of these mangas, if you like one of them you're sure to like the other. I'll give you a warning for HGS though, there are parts where it seems that the protagonist's mom is against homosexuality if you think that's annoying, don't bother reading it. However, this is not a big part of the manga so I'd recommend you to overlook that fact. :)

Houou is a reverse harem manga with a cross-dressing female lead while Maria†Holic has a cross-dressing male lead surrounded by women. Similar comedic tones and premise. Both must keep their real gender secret and have connections to the school's staff. Mariya's antics tend to be similar, but more extreme than Houou's main male character Yui. The main female characters are lesbians searching for a partner and have physical aversions to men, yet find themselves unable to escape their presence.
