As in the parent series, Riviere to Inori no Kuni, a light novel, tells many small tales about interesting characters. sometimes lighthearted sometimes deep, tragic, and morally grey. The conclusions of every story leave something for the reader to think about.
However, unlike "Wandering Witch' there is an overarching plot behind the whole book and a main antagonist. The stories are compact, "grounded" and take place in a small location. It is not fantastical, grand, and dreamlike like the parent story.
The two main characters are likable and interesting but not on the same level as Elaina. Most supporting characters are great too.

elements. if you like the parent story, you will not disappoint.
Elaina is briefly in the story but she is not the main focus. She is still charismatic and fun to read as always.
I have always liked the world of Wandering Witch and its interesting unique layered characters with fun stories along the way. This gave me everything I wanted.
