This manga is a hidden gem among those which deconstruct the mahou shojou genre. It doesn't just rely on its comedic premise to keep you invested but prioritizes good storytelling. There is a deeper reason why Hiromi transforms into a magical girl. There also isn't any fan service; the humor comes simply from gender stereotypes. I also want to highlight the art style with its cool action panels and funny facial expressions.
Hiromi Sakura has the role of an everyman, so it's fun just watching him react to the crazy situations he gets into. He is a likeable, flawed protagonist who selflessly helps others but also

hates his job. There are other fun characters like his rich best friend and the new people he meets. As for the villain, we unfortunately don't know much about them, but there are at least threatening monsters.
Magical Girl Incident offers a nice blend of slice of life and fantasy, like classic mahou shojou mangas. Moreover, there are some surprising revelations about the rules of this world, which make this story more than just a parody. It's clear that the author has respect for magical girls, so if you're a fan of this genre, this manga is for you. The only problem is that only the first two volumes have been translated, so I hope it gains more attention.
