So, I went into this manga cos I thought the main boy was cute, and I'm a bit of a sucker for cute kids in manga, especially if there may be a horror aspect - which is what I expected out of this. Well, I didn't expect THIS, really. It should be said outright this is shotacon, which I am not familiar with and am not into. I also had no idea of this when I started reading it.
It's not overtly sexual, like I expected it to get eventually, but no. It's a very sweet slice-of-life, with some found-family vibes,
...
and while some panels are suggestive and some comments made to the main character are a bit... interesting, I found it to be wholesome and enjoyed it despite my aversion. Short, sweet, to the point, nice art and some sweet interactions and scenarios. I loved seeing how Fuusuke's character grew over the chapters, I thought the main characters' dynamic was cute despite the obvious, and I like the direction the story took over all.
I would recommend it to someone like me, where I had no idea what this is and isn't bothered by some slightly suggestive panels - it is worth your time, promise! - even if it's just to satiate a curiosity as to what this is all about, or for your future reference of what to look out for, as this is quite subtle and left me going back and forth on if this is or isn't what I thought it was. That's what brings me to my mixed-to-recommended rating, as I don't think it's for everyone at all but I don't think it's a bad read cos of this. I can't really say if this is for people who are into this type of thing already, I have no point of reference.
But it was a nice, brief read. Might as well give it a spin, you've got nothing to lose no matter which side of the fence you come from.
