"Hello, can I get porridge with no seasoning or additions please?"
I ducked out of "In the Cage" in chapter 6, effectively at the "climax". Hot garbage. I would claim it was completely innocuous and banal, if it wasn't also for the insultingly trite plot, characters and aesthetic. This greatly demonstrates the double-sided elements of the tropes associated with "omegaverse". The mechanics of the second gender system can bind individuals together with drastically different personalities, goals and status. This can lead to very fun pairings (e.g. Megumi to Tsugumi), but also to instances of passion/romance where none should ever exist i.e. in this godforsaken
...
story. The characters in this story are sooooo boring, and in the rare instance where an extra dimension is hinted at (e.g. the apparent "dark side" of the older brother), it isn't expanded upon whatsoever. Furthermore, when the "dark side" of the older brother is "revealed", it leads to some perfunctory drama to extend the story a further chapter. Asinine, irritating, ugly and as enjoyable as porridge oats made with water.
