Hello Every-Nyan! A-B-C wants to hear what you have been listening to! ♫ Anime Book Club Playlist ♫ ♥ A convenient YouTube playlist of all the songs shared in this thread. ♥ Over the last few months we've been sharing a lot of great music between each other from OP's and ED's to official soundtracks. However, any and all music is more than welcome! This thread will be used as a way to drop new recommendations along with the added bonus of being a small archive of what we currently have shared. Below I have posted a small taste of some of the things myself and members of the community have already shared in no particular order. Please feel free to comment a reply below with anything new you want to share!
And many many more! With this small list of recommendations I hope to grow this discussion with old and new music alike to make this a new hub for us to share content! As a reminder, if I missed something that you previously recommended, this list is not absolute but a way to get everyone motivated to share more awesome music! If you are going to add any other recommendations to this thread do not worry about the formatting for your post. The current format that I have posted this original thread in is not final and subject to change, so get after it! ♡Finally a special thanks to those that have been throwing music recommendations around in our group, I personally appreciate it and love to hear what everyone is interested in! Non-Japanese Artist Anime OPs and EDs That Go Way Too Hard! I'm always taken aback by OPs and EDs that feature licensed tracks outside of Japan. It happens so rarely you can't help but be surprised when you encounter it! Here is a small collection of my favorites! I will post the OP first followed by the music video for reference. Tracks 3-6 are from series I have watched and HIGHLY recommend!

Started back up on the Patlabor TV series and slipped right back into the vibe. Just reeks of the absolute majesty of 80's anime. Such a legendary OP!

- Shenmue the Animation | Kashitarou Itou | UNDEAD-NOID
Just finished Shenmue, an anime adaptation of the video game series, and wanted to share the OP. I don't recommend the series if you have not played the games but the OP is nicely done. Visuals are great, song is great, and Nozomi looks cute! I loved that the OP features a lot of erhu (Chinese violin) which is important to the games original soundtrack.

IN THE WIRED  This last week I watched all of Serial Experiments Lain and felt really inspired by the atmosphere of the show. I took some time to make a 13 track playlist that vibes with the 13 layers of Lain. I added them all! It's general music not just OPs and EDs! Now, if there is to be an overarching theme, I would say it is somewhat anime related. With that being said, many bands can still fit the vibe regardless of the connection (like Tricot). Just use your judgement it's not super strict. For example, the first track posted was Island Door (Paranesian Circle) by Susumu Hirasawa. That is not anime related; it was used in the game RUINER. Susumu Hirasawa, however, has done a ton of anime music (Berserk, works by Satoshi Kon, etc). If we want to get deeper and more specific that is an option as well (see Horizon's IN THE WIRED playlist!). Also you are cute as fuck for subscribing to me. I appreciate you so much. :D  |

| Gushing over Magical Girls is over and its time to share the music we got from this equally blessed and cursed anime. ♡ I'm sharing the ED first because it might actually be the song of the season for me. I cannot explain how much I love this song and how catchy it is. That being said there is actually a second version of this ED if you end up watching the show that is actually incredible. ^_^ And of course the OP. Which is a bit higher tempo but good! After watching this show for the last 13 weeks it has easily taken a slot as one of my favorite ecchi anime. The music just happened to be great too! For the spotify users out there this link is the full version of the final ED that has all of the voice actresses sing on it. Actual banger! |

| Saturdays are for Girls Band Cry this season and I just stumbled upon a few music videos they released as promotional material for the anime. Didn't have any expectations going into it... Left feeling like this is what I needed while I wait for more Kessoku Band music. Wanted to share a few of the songs they did under the band name TOGENASHI TOGEARI! If you enjoyed the Bocchi album you're gonna love this band too, they are sick! Bear with the 3DCG for me here, it's not something I'm usually fond of but it fits really well with the aesthetic they are going for. And not all of their videos have the 3DCG thing going on, of course those videos are the coolest lol. "Bleeding Hearts" - I can't even pick my favorite part of this song. The vocals, keyboard, drums, bass, and guitar are all fuckin' amazing. "Nameless Name" - This song was made for me, the keyboard, drums, and bass are so active on this track it just gives me life. They even gave the keyboard a small solo, so gangster! "Answer to Extreme" - This was my favorite video I'd seen from them so far. Great vibes and the bassists just goes off on this track. There's more than just these tracks in their discography but I wanted to drop a few that I thought really stood out. Truly entertaining visuals and great music, I have absolutely nothing but praise for this project. I really hope to see more from the band and from the anime after it's done airing. I'd hate to see this band go nowhere just because the anime didn't get licensed on a big streaming platform. | Sad news in the world of J-Rock and for me. Reita, the bassist for the GazettE, passed away at 42. GazettE remains an extremely formative band for me. They were among the first wave of Japanese bands I ever dived into. They pioneered modern Visual Kei and set the standard for being absolutely beautiful and looking like real life Final Fantasy characters. The trilogy of albums they released in the late 00s (Nil, Stacked Rubbish, Dim) remains an absolute benchmark for J-Rock as a whole. I actually started acquiring their albums this year after only having digital for over a decade. I was trying to think about the song to share and couldn't help but choose this one. Sorrow made you. Reita's final message was: "I hope the GazettE will last forever"  |

| I was absolutely inspired by the music of Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei 3rd Season, I just had to drop these absolute heaters in the club. First I wanted to share the ED because this song hit so fucking hard when I heard it this week. Also found this cool YouTube video that has the lyrics. | I am back to provide more seasonal bangers for the squad. This time around I have the OP for Konosuba season 3. I have a deep love for Machico and her music, it's always fun and good vibes. This song in particular has incredible singing and drum work. It's one of my favorites from this season (AKA never skip). Growing Up by Machico Side bar on this song. It matches up exceptionally well with the animation for the OP of this season. Also if you end up watching this video I don't think I have to explain how absolutely adorable Machico is. She is amazing lol |

I feel the need to put even more of their music in this thread. This song is an unbelievable banger. Rina on vocals blows me away every week. I am straight addicted to their sound and band right now. This song came out last week. Fucking heat! Keeping the spam light, this is the last track I'll be sharing from the last week. I am seriously considering picking up their album on physical. ଳ Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night! ଳ A few of us here in the club have started watching this beautiful anime from Doga Kobo. I wanted to dedicate a small post to the awesome music that has been releasing alongside the show. Hope you guys enjoy these tracks as much as I have been. 渋谷アクアリウム (Shibuya Aquarium) 最強ガール (Saikyo Girl) 青一色 (All Blue) 月の温度 (Moon Temperature) I'm mixed on what my favorite track is right now. I really like Shibuya Aquarium, but the vibe of Saikyo Girl is unmatched. Overall great music though, no misses. |
| Short post from me today in the music section but I have been on the hunt for this song. In the post above I highlighted some of the great music that the group JELEE has been releasing alongside Yoru no Kurage wa Oyogenai this season. There is one other song that is an absolute banger which is from one of the girls in JELEE, and the other idol group that is mentioned (no spoilers) named Sunflower Dolls. カラフルムーンライト (Colorful Moonlight) - Sunflower Dolls I really like this song and I love how it incorporated the other girls from the story. Just more lore heavy bangers from this season! Sunflower Dolls go kinda hard I can't lie. This link is the MV if you want a visual to go with the song! |
| Hello gang gang. I'm here to deliver the new tracks from Kessoku Band that we got over the weekend. The tracks are OP and ED for the new movie that released last week in Japan. "Shine as Usual" "Now, I'm going from underground" I was a bit too lazy to add the kanji titles this time around but I at least got the English titles in there. Also found some videos that have lyrics ^_^. I enjoyed both of these songs, definitely going in my playlist. New Kessoku Band music is always welcome in this household. Cheers! |

| It's Girls Band Cry Friday! Report in soldiers! Episode 11 just delivered us some more heat. A new track from Diamond Dust, and a new track from TogeToge. Both equipped with an animated performance to back them up. We are truly blessed this season with some amazing music and anime. "Emptiness and Catharsis" *Show spoilers ahead for those who plan to watch. Beware!* "Cycle of Sorrow" - Diamond Dust !BONUS! "ETERNAL FLAME (VOID)" - Diamond Dust Unfortunately I wasn't able to find the full version of "Cycle of Sorrow" on Youtube just yet. At least the official channel uploaded the performance. This one is a different pace from the video I posted in the AMV thread, but if you're into acoustics this one slams. And the singer has a really nice voice. Enjoy! |

I think having each character have some lines in the song really seals it for me. Makes the ED that much better. Get's a few listens per week in my spotify haha. |
