So Substance X made him asexual? -.-

Is Substance X the reason he can't level up or not? You'd think that would be noticed as a side effect pretty fast.
@runec Maybe his Unique Skill (at drinking sludge) Makes him OP Even at Level 1.

This guy obviously didn't play enough video games in our world. He should have tried opening the book before giving up on getting those doors open.

So area high heal is a weaker spell then extra heal? Odd naming convention there.

How does he not freak out and go off on that guy for forgetting his mail all that time?

The two girls showing up was a whole lot of nothing with the way he ended up spending the whole time at the guild. They can't spend so little time cultivating/progressing these relationships and then expect us to give a damn about them.

It seemed to be suddenly angling for a harem no less. I don't even remember their names unless he explicitly states them.

@zkeleton Wasn't Extra Heal the thing he used to fix the girls vocal chords? Maybe it's a weak translation. I imagine Area Extra Heal would be above Area High Heal if that's even a thing.

Yet another isekai where the isekai part had nothing to do with the story.

I kind of feel like the whole labyrinth thing just popped up out of nowhere, and didn't even have anything to do with the beginning of the story. Just feels like it lost it's way...not that it had much way to begin with

It was pretty obvious Substance X wasn't doing a damn thing for him, just held him back...so I am not sure exactly what he meant by it gave him some advantages.

5.5/10

How much xp did he waste going through that entire labyrinth stuck at level 1? He can't even go back and grind it since he cleared it.

Not much to say about this one. It was adequate I guess. The first part was wasted on training montages then the last part was sort of random as suddenly it turned into dungeon crawling. Which didn't have much to do with being a healer.

5/10.

I'm not even going to say that it was adequate. The animation and story were both subpar. The weird obsession with Substance X became annoying, the training lasted too long, and it seemed very strange that someone who was big on healing others ended up adventuring solo.

I give it 4/10.

This was just several different events that all happened to the same person rather than one integrated story with an actual plot.

So he was gone for 6 months before anyone at the guild noticed? Doesn't sound to me like someone they valued all that much.

I couldn't hardly tell the difference between any of the females with blonde hair.

So the Merratoni guild has had two combat gods this whole time and yet one of their receptionists was afraid to go outside for fear of being attacked by some thugs hired by some rich healers. Are those guys useful for anything except beating the crap out of trainees?

Since we never saw him try to train without substance X we never had any idea of what sort of benefit he was actually getting from it. It felt like it was more psychological than anything else.

The story tries to have its cake and eat it too by telling us that the protag is apparently way, WAY stronger than anyone should be at his age and the short amount of time he's been a cleric. But at the same time, the only time this supposed overpoweredness ever plays into anything is when it comes to defeating faceless monsters and complete nobodies, and healing a bunch of extras. Cattleya implies that someone his age is not supposed to be able to cast Area High Heal, or most of the spells he uses to clear dungeons, but as you said...we don't learn "You aren't supposed to be able to do that" until after he's done it.

So like I said, it feels like they wanted to have your standard isekai OP protag, but also wanted to make him a half-assed shonen protagonist that starts out weak but trains hard. And the result is that we have a character whose overpowered "feats' don't feel impressive and "plucky, reckless training arc" means nothing because he has no set goal to reach or rival to overcome.
