| Episode 10 Amane explains the real reason why he moved out and into this apartment as he was being bullied in middle school and taken advantage of. So he decided to restart his life in a place where he won't see those bad apples again. Unlike with Mahiru's parents, Amane's parents gave him their blessing. Just like what Amane said to be there for Mahiru knowing her awful situation with her parents, now Mahiru is returning the favor. And then the two end up going to bed together, or at least in Amane's dream she did. And then exams are coming up as Itsuki, Chitose, and Yuta are invited over to study. Pretty much, this episode is all about Amane as he's becoming too dependent on Mahiru to the point where he's losing his self-sufficiency, but he's got plenty support around him unlike back in middle school. |

| Episode 11 Amane finished in the top 10, so this calls for a reward, and he asks for an ear cleaning on the Angel's lap. And with Mahiru falling asleep, Amane carries her into her bedroom where he sees what's in it for the first time ever. And then it's time for the switch to summer unis and Mahiru is in charge of organizing the sports day event. Then they are about to seal the deal to be the OTP with a kiss, or at least that's what I think is going to happen after Mahiru shows just how affectionate she is. Quite a lot of advancement in their relationship there even though the episode was mostly chatter inside the apartment. One more episode left to go. |
| She's definitely having weird physical desires. I'll give this show one thing: It's very good at portraying the sort of casual physical affection you would expect to see between a real couple. Most anime even if the couple gets together it basically only upgrades to "sometimes they hold hands now". |

| Episode 12 (Finale) And word now goes out that Mahiru and Amane are romantically involved at the sports festival as during the scavenger event at the sports day festival, the two cross the finish line together with each other as their item they were ordered to look for. Amane needed a beautiful person, while Mahiru needed a person dear to her. Seeing that Amane wasn't expecting that turn of events that he's not sure what to do. But Mahiru was well-prepared for a situation like this. And then it ends with Amane telling Mahiru that it's his obligation to make her happy. Not exactly a confession of love, but nevertheless Amane is much less of a coward now than he was at the start of the show. Pretty nice how all that turned out in the end. Final Thoughts This show puts character development at the front and center, and the show does an excellent job with storytelling to that end. The characters are great, while the show gets the job done in the growth of the two leads. Pretty much, the show sticks with what it does best and it makes for a great time to be had. And then there's Project No. 9 that just keeps on improving as a studio to the point that they are entrusted with a show like this. That said, this show is lacking in some regards as it's a type of story that has been done time and again as the plot doesn't do anything outside the box, all while things are pretty slow to develop. Nevertheless, it was a nice time to be had for those who enjoy straight-up, no-frills romance shows and while it lacks in style, it more than makes up for it with substance. Grade: B+ (8/10) |

| One of the few shows this season I actually hope gets a second season. It wasn't flashy and it dragged somewhat early on but it did a good job with character growth and portraying a couple. They naturally grew closer with time. Without any melodramatic misunderstandings or misheard confessions. Even in the last episode they sat down and had an honest talk about their feelings for each other. Rather than ending on "omg I like u" dramatic reveal confession full of blushing and simpering like other shows. 8/10 |

| This was like watching a pretty iceberg. No matter how nice it might be to look at, it's not exactly riveting stuff when it's movement speed is measured in inches per year. A good romance needs drama and this didn't have it. On top of that the characters were about as well developed as a third grade book report. What would they even do in a second season? Have a really slow and mild disagreement that lasts half the season and then spend the second half of the season trying to figure out how they feel about it until they make up in the last episode? |

This adapted up to book 4 of 9. It's not even half way so there's plenty for a season 2. |
| I ragged on this show (and it deserves it; the production values are abysmal, the pacing glacial, the characterizations super bland and the direction flat as a board), but somehow.......I kept watching. |
