Regarding Yamato

She'd have no role in the crew other than being manpower and her reasons for joining are poor compared to the others. She wants to be free because Oden wanted to be free, she wants to save Wano because Oden wanted to save Wano, her motivations are inspired entirely by Oden. 99% of her dialogue is her saying how she's Oden and how Momonosuke has to listen to her because she's his "father". She's a 28 year old woman who's been following a little boy for several episodes and people call her cute for doing so💀. Imagine if a 28 year old man was following a little girl around the entire time, eveyone would be creeped out. Momonosuke is a 8 year old kid who's traumatized by the death of his father and this 28 year old woman who he never met before, is running after him and is bringing up his trauma because it makes her feel good. Yamato def needs to drop the Oden act, she's taking a shit on his legacy and is being an obnoxious character who's bringing Momonosuke's trauma back. Her pretending to be the father of a random kid who doesn't know her, isn't funny or "uwu cute", it's quite annoying and creepy and the only reason why not so many consider her to be annoying or creepy, is because she's a attractive woman.

If she drops the whole Oden act and becomes her own person, maybe I wouldn't mind her, but that's a big if. So far, her entire character has just been poor. Her saying "I'm Oden" and "because I'm Oden" isn't top tier character writing like so many people in the fandom somehow pretend it to be. I think what's overall the problem with her character is how she just came outta nowhere and gets shoved down our throats. Oda seems to try to make her the Oden of Luffy's Generation but that's what Momonosuke should've been.



I think the biggest counter argument against Yamato joining the crew is the fact that Luffy outright said that he doesn't want to know where the treasure is and how he would quit being a pirate if Rayleigh told him anything about the treasure. We know that Yamato has Oden's journal since she's a little kid and read it, so she knows about Laugh Tale, etc. I don't think Luffy would be okay with someone like that joining his crew.
