Why do you skip the filler and how do you let it affect your final score? I see people on here, as well as some friends I know in real life, for any Naruto series and really any show with tremendous amounts of filler skip all the filler, they will use a guide of some sort and use that as a way to trim the fat, skipping all the filler when watching the new show. For a show like Shippuden, is it not disingenuous to rate a show after over 200 episodes reported as filler were skipped entirely?

To put it in perspective, since Naruto is regarded as being notorious for its filler, this is how much is being taken out of the equation. Measuring the filler over the total episode count:

Naruto: 89/220 - 40%
Naruto Shippuden: 210/500 - 42%
Boruto: 28/188 - 15%

i was just thinking about this recently and i agree, filler is still part of the sbow like it or not. and it does give you some good bearings on what the studio enjoys/thinks of the show.

I agree. Since most of the filler in OG Naruto takes place after the real plot, you are not forced to sit through anymore filler before getting to the climax. Plus I enjoyed much of it since you got to see specific character interaction you normally wouldn’t have seen.

Never really thought about that. That would make it more interesting to me watching some good ‘ol filler to get a glimpse of the studios’ interest and even enjoys at the time. I imagine they had loads of fun doing that “what’s under Kakashi’s mask” episode

I’ve watched all the filler but when I rate the series I rate them based off the canon material, and when I rewatch I skip filler

I think to me that’s the same difference. Why watch the filler if it’s not going to count for your overall score?

I skip the filler because I have no patience and want to see the story without any interruptions. I don’t let the fillers affect my score tho

Why does it not affect the score? That’s what I was hoping people shared with me on this.

I use a guide to know when it's a filler and wath some time or first ep if it's a arc and if I feel like it's worth watching like for example the kakashi anbu arc or the indura ashura arc or the inf tsucuyomi (didn't want to check of to spell) fillers but others like when it was about how naruto like raised some monster that grew super quick is just not worth my time

For me it doesn't affect the score because I find most of them funny. After the main cannon is finished I go back and rewatch all the filler like the Kakashi face reveal one

honestly I do skip most fillers in anime. I like being able to watch the actual plot and be able to finish a series faster. I have watched some Naruto filler though, and I did enjoy them, especially when team 7 tried to see what was under Kakashi's mask in og Naruto. filler usually does not change my opinion on a series, because whether you watch them or not doesn't matter, the show is good with or without.

I Juse used naruto Kai, a version I found on nyaa.si which is only canon naruto, each episode adapts a volume of the manga.

It affected my score deeply, naruto is complete 10/10 for me

Naruto original filler episodes I didn't feel bad about skipping .they often didn't add any important information to the story .but as far as shipeden the storyline was more edgy less cute like it's pervious show far less fillers . But now newer shows like yashahima even though it's technically a filler at the end will have important content. I'm guessing so ppl will watch even fillers
