My thoughts on the latest episode is the same as when I read it in the manga. It was boring, bland and pretty much uninteresting except for the time when they showed Polar Star's badassery.

I'm just glad it's over and done with.

What the jimminy christ was that latest episode. Like, Tomokazu Sugita is my favorite voice actor of all time, and he plays Eizan. I finally get to see him IN ACTION, in a Shokugeki. And THIS is the result?

I was expecting Rindo to come in and overide judging, perhaps. Or even for the judges to be double crossing eizan, hence why they were smirking so much. And Souma had worked behind the scenes. BUT NO. He literally wins by just going. "nah.. nah but my food is good tho."

THAT WAS IT. Not helped by the shounen trope of "my friends helped me make this." Like, this is some episode 1 shit. It's nonsense. Eizan being taunted into eating Souma's meal? I get. That, makes sense given his character so far.

BUT THE JUDGES WERE PAID. THEY WERE PAID M O N E Y. I'm no expert on bribery, but you don't just go "Agh-- I know we're being paid who knows how much money by this student we've already established is making A RIDICULOUS AMOUNT OF MONEY. But.. Souma's food was good, so I guess he wins."

DID IT KNOCK THE HUMAN BACK INTO THEM? NO? IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE.

Dissapointing overall... Just needed to get that rant out so I can move on and pretend it never happened. >_>

Side notes. Rindo continues to be top tier wonderful goddess. Everyone at the polar star dorm is a cinnamon bun that must be protected. (Yes, including Fumino. She is true best girl.) Just, ugh.

Well we're apparently gonna get the person who did the best overall in the autumn festival thing.The loli with a stuffed animal who makes sweets. So hopefully she doesn't disappoint like Eizan did...

(I swear to christ, if they beat Azami with the power of friendship. I might not pick up the manga like I intended to... GET A FUCKIN PLAN SOUMA.) It's like they through out all his character development for friendship powers in this one shokugeki.

LOL I totally agree.

I liked the events that transpired with the Polar Star Dorm gang fighting off the ruffians and how it added a little history. However, I was disappointed with how the shokugeki ended.

I can't even say that I over hyped myself about it, because it was simply "Eizan is a crazy cook (top 10 worthy) in addition to a crazy business shark". Nevermind, SOMA'S SKILLZ / SPIRIT CAN'T BE BROKEN BY YOUR CORPORATE SHENANIGANS MOFO. Like you said, just felt like a a huge step backwards in storytelling.

At least we got to see some great shots of Rindo...

I can't think of anything like this happening previously, and I really enjoyed the Moon Festival arc from this season so it probably won't continue like this... Right? =3

Yeah, it's really rare. I don't usually get salty about anime. I normally enjoy everything and just go on and on about how great it is. But this episode just hit me right in the salt spot.

On the bright side, yes, goddess Rindo got to shine some more. The polar star dormitory stuff was lovely, I want to hug the entire dormitory. As I said, Fumino best girl.

But back to salt. IT DOESN'T HELP THAT THEY HYPED EIZAN UP, BY BEING LIKE "Yeah, the only reason he's so low on the top 10. Is because he's too busy MAKIN MONEY. He could be higher if he wanted."

And then just. "lol friendship"

I can assure at least that this is the worst Shokugeki I've read in the manga. Well, in my opinion, anyway. The next mini-arcs/battles will be much better.

Awesome!

If I was bingeing this show like I was before, I don't think I would have been so rattled. (That's okay, I'll just keep on to the next one, that'll be better)

But, I really do look forward to this show each week, and that might raise the bar a bit =3

Two moments I loved in EP 9:

1) Megumi trying and failing to restrain Soma and Takumi.
2) Kurokiba HYPE.

The comedic timing was a bit better in the manga but then again, everything's going by quick judging by the pace J.C. Staff is currently using.

Also, I think this show has the biggest roster of A-list seiyuus I know. Like, even a minor supporting character like Ryoko is being voiced by Kayano Ai.

This last episode was awesome! GAWD this show is so HYPE!~

I even liked how they explained a bit why the last Shokugeki went the way that it did. Eizan is all "Mada mada da ne"

Everytime I hear Megumi talk, I feel like I've come a little closer to kamisama's light.

Megumi's existence is one of secret anime sources of vitality. Simply witnessing the moe blob in action increases lifespan by 10 years.

But yes, regarding episode 9. It was enjoyable, though it was difficult to keep the rage surpressed everytime they were like "WOW, WASN'T SOUMA SO SKILLFUL IN THAT LAST SHOKUGEKI" and I'm just sitting here like. "'... Move along. Move along. Move along." *Clenching fist*

This new Elite 4 seem good. Green haired girl is a secret wife. PInk haired girl is clearly a wife. Uppity guy is about to get crushed by the Kurokiba god.

New episode of Shokugeki, Here we go. Kurokiba VERSUS 'that edgy guy from Central'

My predictions before I watch the episode are that obviously, Kurokiba is gonna win, this guy from Central will obviously be good and the fight will be close. But he's absolute fodder. I'm assuming all four of these Central group are. Maybe green haired girl will be special. Right, time to watch the episode:

And surprising no one... Kurokiba won. Hit em with the character development. Always a wonderful way for a Shokugeki to be won. Like "Hey, I would have lost, if not for my character development.. but I'm better now, so I win."

This fuccin flame guy trying to copy my wife Alice with fancy convection ovens? GET ON OUTTTTTA HERE.
Plus he broke the golden rule. He lewded the loli for no reason other then "there's some salmon ice cream in there."

And L O R D ISSHIKI DESCENDING FROM THE CEILING VIA ROPE. Never change dude. Also Erina is just such a god damn cutie. I must protect this fluffy waifu with my laifu. I need a gif of her wobbling on the bed. She looks absolutely stunning at all times and I need more of her. And Alice. And Alice's mother. Speaking of, when is she coming back, the one true goddess? Need more of her and her bad Japanese.

(At least it won't be as bad as the Engrish in symphogear, AYY OH )

Anyway, great Shokugeki, great episode. Sweets Loli and Megumi fanservice. Along with the preview for next episode being (I think) the first seats nickname, white knight dude. And a very cute Hisako with supreme undergarment choice. So... curious how that's going to be involved?

ALICE'S MOTHER RETURNS. <3 Goddess. Even if only in a flashback.

Which, by the way, my heart was being crushed watching Alice get so excited to send and get letters. Azami needs to die for disappointing the Alice.

Oof, what an exciting episode. Did not see a sudden impromptu battle between Tsukasa (who is wonderful, by the way. Really love his character so far.) and Souma. Them working together was quite a treat.

But the stakes of the battle are so high, that I'm starting to expect a third option is going to come about. An interruption, a claim it's not official so it doesn't count, something along those lines.

Hmm... If that doesn't happen, it's difficult. I really don't see Souma becoming the first seat. Though I guess we are 3 seasons in, it would be a hell of a boost to the plot. And hell, I'm all for it and deeply want it to happen. Just to see where it goes. But I just really don't see it happening.

Both outcomes lead him closer to Central, so I assume he's gonna be doing some undercover stuff till he can Shokugeki his way outta there. So my current guess is that Souma will lose the match.

Yeah, I just heard the news. That's rough. Not really sure how the pacing is gonna go from this point... Since there's only a few episodes left and it would be weird to build up to a climax right after the climax of next episode...

This show is constantly creating these situations that are like "HOW THE EFF IS THIS GOING TO END!!!"

I swear, the fanservice in this show feels so tacked on at some points. Like the author is like "Oh yeah, this is an ecchi manga. Uhh.. changing scene."
