Looking for an anime where the main character (male if possible) is injured badly at some point in the show. Would like there to be romance as well and for him to NOT die. Would also like it if the series wasnt too old. For some reason I love seeing main character getting injured and seeing the reaction from people close to him. Thanks everyone!

GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE! Just kidding. But I totally understand what you want, I think :P

I don't have exactly what you are looking for, unfortunately, but a few anime that include something coming quite close to it could be:
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Parasyte - The maxim -
Noragami (Somewhat)
Soujei no Omnyouji (Currently airing) (Somewhat)
Sword Art Online (Somewhat)
(Somewhat meaning that it isn't quite at where you want it to be, but the aspect is in there. The other two anime I suggested aren't completely there either, but at least a bit.)

I've seen Parasyte, Soujei no Omnyouji, and both seasons of SAO. I'm only 3 episodes into Noragami but haven't watched it in a few weeks. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood looks good but something seems to be holding me back from watching it but I might do so now. Thank you though!

They're probably too old. But what about Inuyasha or Rurouni Kenshin? Both series have lots of episodes, but since the main male chara gets heavy injuries, it might be to your taste?

My bad, I forgot to look at your anime list.
But, yeah, you should definitely watch FMA:B. It's the first anime I've ever watched, got me into anime, and still remains my top1 after all this time. Opinions vary of course, but give it a shot. It may seem a little childish at first but after a while it's simply epic.

Major. I forgot what season, but one of the later ones. Tbh, I think he gets some kind of "major" injury in every season. Anyway, it's a good sports anime. Worth a watch.

http://myanimelist.net/anime/627/Major_S1 (he's a kid in S1 but he grows up throughout the seasons).

I do plan on watching Inuyasha but as for Rurouni Kenshin it will probably take me some time to get used to the art.

I've seen Strike the Blood and Charlotte but I don't know if I want to watch Deadman Wonderland. It seems really dark and messed up. I'm just not a fan of Horror stuff.

I understand completely. Try Major (Baseball anime, prob the best in my opinion). 6 seasons and very inspiring.

I have that injured and reaction interest thing too haha. Even if its just them getting sick, suddenly collapsing, losing control or whatnot

Though most of the ones i mentioned above didn't quite click with me as much in regards to that criteria...

No worries ^ ^

For Bakuman, the criteria comes in a bit later (it has 3 seasons...)
And Robotics and Basquash its midway.
