This is something probably everyone recognizes....
You have been watching a great series.
You hav also been watching a great second series of it, which you were very thankfull for.

Then you realize that the source material has enough to make even more seasons...
BUT THEY ARE NEVER MADE!!!! AAARGGGHHHH!!!!!

So besides from making people rage, there are other effects this has.
One thing often mentioned is that it raises the sales for the source material, whether that is light novels or manga.

But what I'm always wondering, is whether that really is the only reason.
If a series is watched often, wouldn't tv stations be willing to buy another season of it?

What are your ideas on this?

Sometimes anime studios might not have enough of a budget to make a third season. One example is Attack on Titan - I read somewhere that the second season was only twelve episodes because Wit Studio didn't have enough money for the production of any more episodes at that time. Of course that may not be true, but it's something to consider.

But I totally understand your rage. It's super annoying when you know there is more in the source material, but it just isn't made into an anime.

I found an article on polygon that seems to back up that claim. Even so, the series does get a third season.

Two more mainstream ones would be Log Horizon and Psycho-Pass. Unless I missed some rumors, neither has a third season planned while both were fairly big.
