Because property is a good investment if you do it right. I'm retired living off the income from two of them.

In any group you will always find exceptions.

It's not like any of us can't be finacially well off from our efforts, but it's damn rare.

Most people tend to be the norm though. Two income families that are aware the two incomes need to be from decent jobs if you expect to own the home instead of just living in it.

The market in the US is a good example of how many thought they could own a home and couldn't.
While not technically anime, currently I am a big fan of Hatsune Miku.
At least I can go see her in concert.

Single as a very single thing.

Recently my ex-girlfriend and I ended our 2 and a bit year relationship by 'mutual consent'. I do definitely still like her, although I went to stay with her for a few days last week and absolutely naff all happened. I'm assuming from the lack of intimate interaction that we're pretty much done. Ah well, we are really good friends still, so it's not a complete wash out.

I'm not really actively seeking out a new partner at the moment, although I wouldn't turn down a really good opportunity.

Currently have a girlfriend, I've been with her for 2-3 years or so.

8 married, 25 with a gf/bf, 137 single. Yay for being in the minority, I bet those people who voted and meant married feel like they deserve a badge of some sort, I know I would. xD

This is a little offensive, but seeing the huge bar representing "single" explode beyond the others after I voted made me laugh aloud. :J Just because of the stereotype.

Currently single and will remain like that probably for a long time.
I have a lot of flaws and I am very moody. Finding someone who could deal with this and be able to tolerate me, would be kind of a miracle to begin with.

Then, I just can't see myself dedicating my life to someone else. I'm too much of an individualist for that. And I need to have a lot of independence too.
So, marriage is definitely a no no.

Wow, I thought the "all anime nerds are single" thing was JUST a stereotype, but look at that percentage.

That's depressing.

We should setup a matchmaking subforum where people could hook up. =^_^=

Well - I'm sure a large chunk of users here are also under 20. So... that should very much be a factor too.

Nope, it's more like all possible colours an RGB 32-bit pixel can produce, yap, alpha layer too.

I'm sure there are a lot of cultures which don't have marriage, or intermediate concepts for instance. I wouldn't be surprised if there are cultures with 'tryout' marriages or some-thing. First five years, then vote to make it permanent or not. Open relationships, or people who are as damned kewl as I and don't really care about what to name it but more of what it is. Take this example:

A: Lives together with a flatmate most of the time, has sex with flatmate and often sleeps in the same bed, flatmate has the wrong sexual orientation for it though but claims the sex is more experienced as platonic, as some form of high-intimacy hugging, various feelings of jealousy to other people but not enough to be troubling.
B: Ever praesent semi-incestuous relationship with younger sibling, experimentation if you like, rather overprotective nature of both parties towards the other party.
C: Various unagreed incidental sexual encounters with friends, reflected upon similarly as hugging to most people.
D: All of the above at the same time.

Pick your name amongst those three.

I've been with my boyfriend for 5 and 1/2 years now. We've been living together for 3 1/2, and I suppose you might as well consider us engaged.

He was sort of forced into watching anime by me, but now he likes it as much as I do. xD

Marriage is one of those things we're sure we'll do, but we're just not in a rush for it. :)
