I think you mean the second arc, and I have no idea.

It's in the second arc.
I think it had to do with the fact that they no longer had where to live and the Godesses' mother (the white falco) must have almoust literally taken them under her wing. They couldn't live on disguisins Hime as a human because the samurai was not human anymore. They had to look for a supernatural way out, right? ;)

I think it was a metaphor for throwing away everything and becoming free.

i agree. mustve meant since they were the only 2 left they went there ways off together in the form of an animal, that being falcons, since the forgotten castle was destroyed the only thing holding tomi hime back, and while himekawa is no longer a human anymore.

Earlier, they mentioned how they wanted to live with the two of them alone away from villages. They must of taken this route.

I thought that this was going to happen already, but... why put it that big in the topic name? T_T

The reason why they are turned into a falcon is because they still want to be together and well, the only way out is in neither a human or a demon form, so only a animal form remains as an option. Plus Tomi-hime could be with her mother and as her mother accepts Zusho-no-Suke as well, they're having their happy end in their own way.
