| Maybe, I do remember them mentioning things about graduating soon and having to find jobs, then it showed Natsume thinking about being an exorcist like Nattori Shuichi. Though he could have been in the same grade the whole year since we don't know the exact time that has passed, just those random seasons. Though with most anime I don't think it's supposed to be important, they might use the birthday as a way to make an episode more exciting. But it's the same way as in most anime you never see the parents, they are out of town or something like that, just a way to keep the story going. |

| If I remember correctly, Season 1 (Natsume Yuujinchou) - First year of high school Season 2 (Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou) - Still in first year Season 3 (Natsume Yuujinchou San) - Second year Season 4 (Natsume Yuujinchou Shi) - Still second year Because in season 1 and 2 Natsume's friend, Atsushi Kitamoto, was in the same class with him and Nishimura. And at the start of season 3, they showed us a brief picture of which class he was in (Class 2-2) and Kitamoto was in the same class with Tanuma. Maybe in season 5 (if they ever made one) he would be in his senior year. |
