This last episode of Another was a hard one for me due to Izumi’s death. Despite that the ending was totally changed from the LN since Mei is not dead but alive and the ED trolled us at Teshigawara being dead, Mochizuki and Mei along with Kazami. So Mei being alive with Kouichi opens up the possibility for S2 of Another like rumored.
About the Death of Izumi, let’s see. Got me under heavy intoxication of alcohol and nicotine. Got me into taking a break and that is be cause having a poster of her with Mei really got me into thinking she was alive however with what happens in the spoilerwith a marvelous depiction of the glass shattering, Mei/Kouichi’s faces with the lightning effect and the scenery in general that Izumi is gone at that moment. Her death’s depiction in the following,
Really got to me when I was watching the episode. I kind of knew it before her death with marvelous flashbacks in the spoiler of her and Kouichi that it would happen. What really gave it away are the depiction of her wounds in the spoiler while the flashbacks were playing. Other elements of her death:- POOR POOR BREASTS OF IZUMI in the spoilerI told people not to drool over the beach episode cause both hotties are gone and dead!
- Despite excellent faces of Mei and of Kouichi’s freaking out here the insane vision of Mei in the spoiler of Izumi dying was scary and depressing. I should know better of that part. It was like her soul was seeping out from the body.
- In thee end Izumi body was DESECRATED by the explosions in the spoilerthat was sick and bad. It was almost like Takako’s desecration when she went splat due to a pillar falling on her.
Despite all that trauma I did like Izumi laid to RIP in Kouichi’s arms in the spoiler despite her being totally mind freaking due to her being covered in blood at that part. The worst shitty part was that Kouichi did not even remember that can part but that is only due to the stupid effect of the curse that Reiko gave him out.
About Izumi saving Kouichi, she really did save him from Kazami in the spoiler as he was about to kill Kouichi due to his insanity. That was a nice hit TBH. I though it was fatal but from the looks of here he was still alive. Internal concussion can be a bitch. Izumi’s faces towards Chibiki in the spoiler Was soooooo win, it’s amazing of her anger. I really liked it.
About Izumi VS Kouichi, ironically it became the turn around when Kouichi instead of calming down Izumi decided to go brutal on her or should I say failed in getting Izumi back to her senses. The first part of in the spoiler was pretty nice for some hit exchanges and dodging of Kouichi. There were some nice Izumi faces and best of all she does KO Kouichi nicely. I do commend on Kouichi’s bravery to RAM Izumi here and that he did a better job of holding her back here. Izumi however makes a nice face here only might I yell out KICK KOUCIHI’S ASS with a nice knee jab and side slam of her weapon in the spoiler good thing she did not use the sharp side, Kouichi would be sliced up deeply.
About Izumi VS Mei, it started very nicely in the spoiler the face off with both faces presented in a stand off fashion. There are 5 elements composing the face off I found most spectacular but cruel towards Mei of Izumi. She was too frenzied and berserk.
1. The rush of Izumi on Mei in the spoiler was nicely done with her facial expression and Mei also getting stabbed. A nice dodge there by her.
2. The first collar pulling in the spoiler had good expression of Mei and Izumi. As one was fearful while the other was totally aggressive.
3. The choked hold in the spoilerwas nice mainly since it led to a stairway tumble. However Mei’s face being abused was not cool here. Izumi hitting her was really not OK with me.
4. The kicking of Mei’s face in the spoiler Was PURE RAGE! That got too much there. How the Fuck can you abuse a face like that? It’s crazy!
5. The last part was what made the previous worse and way worst. Izumi abusing of Mei’s face in the spoiler WAS NOT OK! IT WAS NOT COOL! It made Izumi really nasty. I really wanted her to get along with Mei. Good thing that Kouichi stops her at that moment.
So that being said the last of Izumi I can say was her cool stances in the spoiler of declaring to kill Kouichi. Her face there was most marvelous mingle of sadness and anger.
About Chibiki being a hero, he really impressed me with his bravery TBH. For one he saved Teshigawara and Mochizuki in the spoiler from the sick ass Inn keeper woman. She was totally nuts running like a crazy insane bitch here while poor poor Teshigawara with Mochizuki here are totally running for their lives. In fact Mochizuki got almost caught in the spoiler and was most likely next to be killed while when that failed the crazy old bitch jumped at Teshigawara here. Rather insane IMO. Good thing when Chibiki stopped her he used some basic restraining methods. She soon KO from her craziness. Second, he saves Izumi from being stupid and Kouichi from her in the spoiler he used some rather nice KUNG-FU to make Izumi flip and drop while being disarmed. Nice moves there Chibiki! I liked that Chibiki in thee end went to pray at the grave in the spoiler that's quite the honor of him.
About Mei, Mei was nuts just to walk around the place while it’s on fire here. After the crazy fighting with Izumi and being abused physically while she get defended by Kouichi, Mei’s faces and stance with the killing weapon in the spoiler was pretty cute along with both eyes being exposed. Loved the up close shot of her eyes here and of the fact that she went to the grave to pray. That was nice of her. While it was good to know that Kouichi and her are alive. While it was nice to see Mei walk with Kouichi here and seeing her hand adjusting her eye patch along with this sudden eye expression here. Was nice to see Mei walk with Kouichi and prove of the picture that she see ghosts on them too in the spoiler while her smile was nice to see and her looking at Kouichi. I find it most relaxing of seeing Mei and Kouichi in the following,
That Bench part was a nice setup with the sun but what bothers me of Mei is in the spoiler that last smile of Kouichi, that scenery but most of all Mei’s smile there and how she acts after she was told of the calamity being over. Is it due to being happy that it’s over or is it that something else is up? Really gave off a mixed aura TBH.
About Reiko aka Misaki the assistant teacher. At first I knew that she was still alive here and got only KO from the hit. Still what a creepy way here to first show her. Her begging for help and the show of her being Misaki the teacher in the spoiler was nicely done IMO. Showed that she evil shit possessing her using MERCY as a form to live on and it showed that Reiko is Misaki the teacher. Obviously Kouichi’s shock was nice there. The extra desk being in the faculty got me TROLL MINDFUCKED! I could not believe we GOT TROLLED that badly in the problem being the class while it was in the faculty room. Should have shown it more. I could deduct things more.
Theorization of Mei’s Green Eye of Life
Indeed that’s what I call it, able to detect if it's life or death. If you notice in the spoiler Reiko is surrounded by evil spirits of ghost figures. Well that just means that whoever has those is possessed by the death to do their biting. While the soul might have gone already to heavens. It’s usually known as grave robbers! Robbing the grave of its still resting body. Mei can also see souls that are about to leave the body as she saw with Izumi. The color of death usually has none but from the looks of Mei’s eye it’s either purple dark or some crystal clear black. IMO that’s what it looks like.
That being said I feared for Mei when Kouichi did not want her to kill Reiko here. While Kouichi was still freaking out here at the truth and despite all he still hesitates in all this with his face here. It’s really fucking unbelievable that Kouichi gets fooled in the spoiler of SHOWING MERCY? MERCY TO REIKO? YOU FUCKING STUPID KOUICHI? There should not be a moment of hesitation on his part to do this. The shit is tricking him while possessing the person. He totally got fooled in that. If Mei did not tell him the truth, he would not be able to do it alone. Three poignant things of Reiko’s true death:
1.The fear she had and her assailant in the spoiler Was insane in the brain for the fact he was most likely possessed by that evil spirit going around. That guy with knife was not normal at all in the way he behaved and smiled.
2. The details of Reiko’s death of Mei saw in the spoiler can resumed as 1 full forced slash with a good run to add towards depth of the cut made and 1 deep stab with a run for penetration. 2 knife hits, one at the back and the other is stomach stabbed. Both wounds are fatal as one screws over the spinal cords along with its nerves while the other one does a major mess of the stomach. Suffice to say that the victim had no chance.
3. The dumping of the body of Reiko in the spoiler into the water gave her no chance of surviving with bleeding out in the water and the wounds getting infected since the water certainly is not clean. The wounds were terrible of hers in the spoiler SICK SHIT! That guy is sick in the head.
So it was quite the powerhouse to learn of such a gruesome death. Despite all that Kouichi got to be a man and finish off the job in the spoiler despite his lame ass crying over something that is shit and death already. There was no soul of Reiko there, just her body being used. I got really worried of Kouichi cause his lung here reacted to the trauma of the killing. Hence Kouichi will never be a cop nor in the army.
About Kazami Tomohiko, there surely SOMETHING FUCKING WRONG WITH THE STAFF OF THIS ANIME! WTF is up with him in the following,
Many may wonder? Well he is alive and I WANTED HIM DEAD! HE IS FUCKING SICK IN THE HEAD! SICK LIKE SHIT! Let me remind what this fucko did by order of MY RAGE! Apparently he is dead but my thoughts of him are still the following ones:
1. He throws a fucking kitchen knife at the girl in the spoiler that is part of the Yuri couple. Making her spit blood! FUCKO MUST DIE FOR THAT!
2. He pulls out the knife from that girl in the spoiler making her totally suffer and I CRINGE HARD at the sound along with her wound but also cause I fear for the other girl he scared the living shit out of.
3. You think he should FUCKING LIVE for how the girl looks like in the spoiler as Kouichi finds her? Fuck no! He should die for that! Such a poor and sad state the girl is. She never had a nice chance for a kiss.
4. He kills Matsui with a knife planted in her neck from throwing it in the spoiler that poor poor face of the girl. I GOT SICK!
5. With the way his bloody face was and the fact that I PUKED AND GOT SICK due Matsui’s face in the spoiler was not a good sign. In fact I felt like puking but still few animes can do that to me really. On top of that he pulls out the knife from Matsui's body making a blood splash. You think he deserves to live after THIS? Are you nuts Staff of anime?
6. Attempted murder in the spoiler of Kouichi by trying to stab him despite him defending and dodging the hits. That seems right.
7. Second attempt of murder in the spoiler after the fact Kouichi was pushed through a door, effectively breaking it.
My final verdict after 2 murders and 2 attempted murders is DEATH SENTENCE TO HIM! Therefore he should have died somehow and not be alive. The staff of the anime ARE MORONS TO LET HIM LIVE! It’s like saying killing is good as long as you think it will save people. FUCK THAT! Bad message. Scratch that apparently he does die. That guy just looks like him. I was a little fooled perhaps visually due to the resemblances but my thoughts of him stand as those I have enounced. Perhaps Izumi killing does make her earn more respect than I had for her.
About the other elements, this is a list for other things I though of the episode:- The beginning with the intro of some people in the spoilerwas nice. It gave out a nice feeling of them wanting to escape.
- The chandelier part in the spoilerwas expected from the OP. I kind of knew it did not kill them but that it could. It was still pretty sick of seeing them crushed like that since it made you fear for their lives.
- I am wondering still WTF was the girl doing in the room in the spoilerHELLO! FIRE! NEED TO BE OUTSIDE? DOES NOT COMPUTE? WTF? No really not smart less she has something to look for or is possessed which I think she might be and the evil shit wanted her dead well too bad cause she lives in the spoiler Thank God!
- OMG the poor person crushed by the column in the spoilerthat was plain sick.
- It was nice to see some people and that guy in Chibiki’s car in the spoilerI still think that guy looks dead in the car. Glad the girl from the explosion room is there at least being safe.
- Kazami looking like he just died with Teshigawara’s emotions in the spoilerwas moving (Teshigawara is) until I find out he is not dead. RAGE! I wish he died there. It would have been better or Izumi killing him. The house on fire crumbling was nice there. True bro to care for his bro.
- Makes no sense of the way the wooden piece on fire hits Kouichi in the spoilerit’s like it hits him and then just bounces off his back not even getting him on fire. Then again I think Kouichi is nuts to go back in there due to Mei. Must be love.
- Nice set up of the fire in the spoilergave allusion a little that Mei is burned or that no survivors that were there made it.
- The house burning along with Kouichi’s face in the spoilerwas nice and all but WTF or who the heck is in the spoiler dead? I see a girl’s body but it seems I don’t know who. Is the head severed too? Looks like it but it seems censored again.
- I liked how they show the inside of the place burning in the spoilernotice the red stained walls and the blood in those scenes. Nice thing they show us the date and time on Kouichi’s cell here.
That being said all those elements added nicely to the episodes atmosphere and flow.
Conclusion and Theorization.
It’s obvious that it’s not over. They just stopped the Evil Spirit from having power over the living with a living body. It can still make shit happen around. Moreover I think it’s next move is Mei’s sister. Why? Cause it might already have control over Mei. I am not sure but that last smile of Mei looks suspicious. I don’t want to believe but my theory holds loads of truth in terms that the Evil Spirit knows how it lost. It might take control of that through a means of having some body that can attract Mei to her death or take control of Mei. That is because it knows Mei is danger to its plans. That Evil spirit is not stupid. It was using MERCY to not be killed with the fake person. It moreover knew who to tick into killing others with anger and wrath along with confusion. I think it plans to take control of Mei through her twin sister and she is still in the morgue or at least freshly bury. I suspect why the OVA will be shown is to flesh out my theory to her details. If I am right S2 might be more insane with the only person that can see dead people not being herself anymore.
Finally it was shown that the only solution of all this is to redo the tape as a MD in the spoiler that was popular in those times. THAT’S NOT THE SOLUTION! Only a plaster to stop the problem. The real solution is get a powerful exorcist that knows of Lovecraft’s ways and reverse the problem. Ideally find the place where the curse was done or the evil spirit. IMO that may be possible in the S2 provided it uses a soul it took control of towards getting another body for itself Not sure if it can do it but having a open window to get at it is what is needed. Once captured the curse should go away with it since its master caster is not there anymore so to speak.
My final score is from 8/10 to a 10/10 MASTERPIECE of Horror! Wonderfully done! Remarkable, I wonder if the author has a thing for Lovecraft? Why the reference then? I shall leave it that.
