Why we don't like some manga! (or simply why some gets on our nerves!)

I really needed one of these topic. Hehe
I read lots and lots of manga... and not all of them are great.
This is where we rant* about things we don't like in manga.
Example are: the setting, the characters, the story, the problems, or just anything you can think about that get on your nerves!! (oh yes! There are a lot of those!!)

*RANT: To speak or write in an angry or violent manner; rave.
Hm... I don't like violent...

Also I would love it if you can tell me the name of the manga.

I have to bash this series. It's so overrated. Sure it was probably the first shoujo I read, but I hate all the people giving it straight 10s >.> Tohru's too perfect and so subservient. And come on, how many shoujo cliches are used in it? Love triangles, badboy x good girl pairing, animal transformations, a girl that comes into their lives and changes everything...It sickens me how much love it's getting.

This is a good rant. I love love love this series. I worship it. I will write a bussiness letter to all the publishing companies in America to get this licensed. I would buy the raws to support it, even if I hate buying raws. Mature material and it deals with something we usually don't see in manga - Hospital Politics..It's endlessly enthralling, and every time the success of an operation happens, you can feel the happiness of the characters. .It's also a story of change almost, of a new revolution by brilliant surgeon Asada as he righteously follows his own ideals and strays from the path most doctors take. A great manga that exposes the flaws of Japanese hospital, where patients aren't the top concern.

Ahaha I actually like it a lot!
Maybe because it's too cute... lol
But I understand what you are saying. I wouldn't say it's a masterpiece because it has lots of flaws. Everything is like good for her. In real life, being nice to everyone don't always get you everywhere. I guess you are a person who might prefer something that can happen in real life relationship or something. haha no one's perfect.
(hm... the quotes use in the manga are kinda heart warming though...)

Well, yes I think Furuba is cute as well, but I just get annoyed when others call it masterfall and all..That should be reserved for stuff like Parakiss and Monster >_<

Haha, yeah I prefer more realistic stuff, my manga taste has really changed over the course of like 2 years ^^''''' I think the quotes are kinda heartwarming too, but they're really just preaching to you really..Tohru just tells you it's going to be all right, but is that really true? Sorry, I need to get this all out ^^'''''

I see your point. nothing's always alright! this is why i like shoujo, yet i dislike it the most.

Chain of Pearls

I can't believe I wasted my time reading this manga.
It was ok in the beginning, but it start sucking... I don't think it was good at all!!!
Everyone in the manga is so stupid!! Got on my nerve badly.
The story was stupid. Maybe it was too obvious how the story was going to go.
love triangle between two best friend and a girl. one of the guy finally get the girl and other goes crazy and do stupid stuff so that those two would break up.
the words they use in the manga was quite annoying as well.

This series almost made me cry. Me cry? That's the greatest of it. Just pages into the first chapter, you're struck by the sadness of the series expressed through the love an owner has for her dog. It's more than a master/dog relationship. And as you turn the final page, I promise you, you will be bawling or trying with all your might to keep tears away. The artwork isn't top notch or anything, but the beauty of the series will leave you speechless and most likely crying.

Uwasa no Midori-kun

I hate hate hate this series. The heroine is an idoit. More of an idoit than the usual shoujo heroine. I thought the heroine of the mangaka's other work, Moe Kare was stupid, but the stupidity of this heroine takes it to a whole new level. Apparently it's a story about a girl genderbending to go to an all guys school to get revenge on this guy..[It was her fault in the begginning, that she let that guy do..what he did to her. ] And everytime they meet up again,...there are no epic soccer battles with the heroine, who instead always ends up making out with that guy she wants revenge on..And then there's this other guy who falls for her...Seriously, this girl is way too stupid and still guys are all around her.. So many shoujo cliches and lousy lousy characters. I hate it. And this probably might be the first series I'll put on my dropped list.

Unfortunately this is a bad rant. Why did this series get such nice comments on MU!??! I can't even begin to fathom why. Yoshizumi Wataru should stick with writing shoujo manga. She can't pull off a brillant 2 volume josei. There was probably only one mature theme used to deepen the story and yet it doesn't play a big theme in the story..Its almost like it was just stuck in to assure the readers that this is a josei, but heck that doesn't make a good josei. The story falls into the exact formula of most shoujo despite being a josei. Girl falls for badboy, ex-girlfriends, "supposed dead" girlfriends, ex-boyfriends, love triangles..should I go on with the cliche list? The art is good as always, but it's a cute read perhaps, but would females 18-20ish be reading this? It doens't deserve the honor of being called a josei.

It doesn't make much sense when shoujo mangaka move to josei.
Anyway, I don't like stupid heroine. They kinda ruin the story. Haha, but it's funny, Revenge for something you start? haha It's better if you don't do it in the first place then.

Haha well I don't think it because of that. we all have different reason why it touches our heart. well, my uncle use to have a dog. I was quite close with it. He had it ever since it was a little puppy, but when it got older they gave it away. i was sad. i really love her!!
uh... one day while my little cousin was watching some movie call far from home or something? where these dogs were trying to get home. at the end when they got home. he start crying and said, "is coco going to come back home too?" my aunt was just in tears when she hear that. i felt pretty bad for my little cousin. he was only 5 years old.

Yeah probably...I haven't really had any personal encounters with dogs, but I am an animal lover...It was such a sad manga though ; _ ;
