During one of my last rewatching of the first series I finally noticed how the whole anime is 'love letter' (homage, appreciation, etc.) by the anime's production team to Italy and especially Italiann art. So much of Italian countryside is lovingly protrayed and recreated in the anime, and the art reproductions we get to see are obviously made by artists who are fans and lovers of those artworks we see. jes sayin. sumtin to think about.

Yeah, I know what you mean.

In fact Season 1 was something very good. Not like Season 2 which was obviously aimed for the masses and has very bad quality (with the exception being the soundtracks). But too bad, that the masses can't appreciate a good anime.
