2010 is nearly over, time for a best of/general discussion thread for all music released this year.

If you have a song from 2010 you really like and you want to share it with everyone else in the club, visit the current MAL Mixtape thread and submit it. Mixtape closed.

Standout albums for me this year so far:

LCD Soundsystem - This Is Happening
Circa Survive - Blue Sky Noise
Flying Lotus - Cosmogramma
Orbs - Asleep Next to Science
Cairbou - Swim
Deerhunter - Halcyon Digest
Rosetta - A Determinism of Morality

Still plenty of stuff I haven't heard but I'll get to it soon:

Agalloch - Marrow of the Spirit
Daft Punk - Tron: Legacy (soundtrack)
World's End Girlfriend - Seven Idiots
Broken Social Scene - Forgiveness Rock Record
etc

The Flashbulb's Arboreal album was definitely my favorite this year. I also enjoyed Venetian Snares' My So-Called Life and Danny Byrd's Rave Digger. I'm looking for to listening to Stratovarius' latest EP, Darkest Hours.

Once again, the mainstream stuff failed to impress me. The only real mainstream song I liked was Fire Flies. I'm actually surprised that song went mainstream.

Well, 2010 was indeed a very productive year, even for music studios most people never even heard off. yet they listen to their music in movie trailers daily ^^

Out of those my personal highlights so far are:

Two Steps From Hell - Power Of Darkness, Invincible
City of The Fallen - Exsilium, Revelations, Crucible
Audiomachine - Platinum Series IV, Deus Ex Machina
"Dream of nothing and wake to a dream come true."

Its really well produced and, how do I describe such awesomeness? Its like your first bite into apple pie that was made from a family member with tender care :) I guess you could say they did well and they stayed true to themselves with each track and had great dynamics (like a bite in apple pie :D)

Yeah 3 years after their last album Daft Punk has delivered exactly what we expected them to...and we were expecting a lot. Namely epicness.

Yeah the Alive 2007 album was pretty epic altogether even though it was live remixes. My favorite album is always and still is Discovery. Scary how its been almost 10 years since that album. But my favorite Daft Punk song is Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger (Alive 2007 remix). Strangely motivational when your working out, running, or doing anything really.
