Well, judging from Otafest, 50% are male, 30% are female and the other 20% are... Unidentifiable. I began to wonder if 15% of those were even human... And those were the ones out of cosplay...

Thats difficult I hear about a lot of males watching anime but most of them just do so in down time(talking in town people) But I have seen more females who like it then heard about males. Like for instance my local library had a anime club I thought cool finally a club that watches library I will actually get to meet people that like anime. Nice smart people that have valid opinions on anime like myself. But that was just my dream what I found were high school aged girls if not middle school who had inuyasha on the brain and such. The anime that they played when I went there was sailor moon now I don't mind watchin it but watching it with middle school girls at the age of 19................ Awkward. If there was someone there who actually looked like they knew more then 4 anime titles I might have stayed but I felt majorly out of place. Sad ain't it?

Anyway Topic I say there are more females.

In Holland it's equal I think. The Dutch communities seem to have lots of females and I know plenty of ladies that are interested in it.

I guess it pretty much 50/50? A lot of the time I automatically assume someones a guy on a forum site until hinted other wise, maybe that's why so many people think this site are pretty much all guys?

Most of my friends are girls so I had a feeling that more males are into anime.
Furthermore, I have seen a lot of guys at anime conventions more than girls.
