I'm not certain if this one should be added: Soul Eater. Maka Albarn is a strong female lead, but the series is not solely from her perspective.

I'm not entirely certain about the focus of this community. Are we talking only about strong female leads or series mainly from a female perspective? How much of the story needs to be from the female's POV? Does she have to be the main character or can she share the lead spot with a male?

At first this was a club to separate anime told from a female POV since I was always bothered that it would be told from a kind of sexist male prospective. However, I've just kind of made it into a club where you can share your FAVORITE female characters who have a relatively strong/ resilient personality. Usually I select the anime with an opening scene with a female character in the lead. Sometimes though, it's hard to differentiate, like in Kaze no Stigma which is a shared lead between the male and female characters.

I didn't include Princess Mononoke or Castle in the Sky from Studio Ghibli, because the movies are mainly told from the guy's POV, even though the female co-lead is a well-written, strong female character.

My opinion: for Castle in the Sky, as much as I love it, Princess Mononoke is not under my category of female who lead, just because she is kind of helpless...
Feel free to refute.

Hope this helps clarify things:) Also, thanks for reminding me to add the Miyazaki films, I love them but haven't got through a few so I couldn't tell if it was a female lead or not...
