Another story about Shinou and Daikenja. Looks like Shinou is still small and he saw something black go past by which his mother says must be a lady with black hair and eyes from the east. So Shinou's mother dances in front of the king when she's in the country in exchange for living outside the castle. She was a travelling dancer.

When the king's oldest son comes by Shinou's mother immediately bows in front of him but he says that he's the same as the rest so there's no need to bow in front of him. He says the he wants to take Shinou with him since he has more power than other children his age and is a good partner for him to play with. And Shinou's 10, if he's a demon shouldn't he look like 2!?

And why can't the author just reveal Shinou's real name!? Even his mother and brother not using his name is weird.

Shinou says that since the woman with black hair and black eyes is very clever, she can be of help to the king in battles and politics but his brother says that the king doesn't like women holding any powers.

And that brother of his died a few years later. And that brother was killed by family members, he was charged for rebellion and was ordered to commit suicide. And Murata is talking to Shinou.

I don't understand what the author is trying to do. On one hand she emphasizes that only the current existence is important and past lives do not matter yet the character's past lives play an important role in the story.

Murata says that he's not a citizen of his country neither his loyal subordinate. And Shinou "abducted" him.

So Shinou called Murata when he was engulfed in the flames and trying to get to Yuuri. And Murata hates Shinou for casting a curse on him to make him remember everything.

And Shinou asking who Shibuya is!? He doesn't even know the name of the king he chose himself!?

I don't get more than half of the conversation between Shinou and Murata, not the stuff about the space being made based on Murata's imagination and neither about the cards. Looks like it switched from Shinou and Murata to Murata and Yuuri which is supposed to be showing Murata's memory to Shinou and it just so confusing. Had to read it twice to make some sense of it.

Murata has invented some program to predict the past life of the user by entering their birth date and time and Yuuri as always says he's not interested in knowing his past life. Murata suggests that what if some curse was implanted into their should by God and they were acting accordingly but Yuuri says that it's just genetics.

After seeing that memory he says that Yuuri is a boring kid. And Shinou says he was expecting Yuuri to do so well as the king. Murata insists that Shinou is jealous of Yuuri. Shinou says that he doesn't help anyone, neither Yuuri nor any of the past kings but he says he'll help Yuuri if Murata gathers the boxes. That's something Shinou told Conrad in the anime version. And he says that he wants to have both the boxes and keys with him then who was the one that put the idea of going to Cimarron in Conrad's mind?

And Shinou originally planned on having all the keys within himself but it was Daikenja who decided to give the keys to his subordinates.

Murata says that he won't help him because he wants to let Yuuri decide what to do with them, Murata is even fine being Shinou's enemy for that sake. Why does everyone have to simp to Yuuri!?

Then Murata picks up the fragment of the box and stood before the flames and left hoping to go to Yuuri.
