It's been a few days since I finish this anime, genuinely really enjoyed it. Does anyone know if a second season is coming?

yes. second season is coming. date haven't announced yet. most probably next year(2024).

probably 2024 somewhere there but thing is i checked the manga a bit which is a thing i dont usually do and season 2 if it would be only 12 episodes seems to me so dry... like it looks like their relationship wont get anywhere even if we had season 2 3 4 and i dont enjoy animes like that i mean i think that animes like this would be amazing if they would get together and then it would be a story about their relationship and not 2 3 seasons about where they clearly like each other and too dented to realize it^-^

What does the “genre” have to do with it?

If the anime is good, it is good.

Why do you need to defend yourself?

Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series and judge each based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

People always say this is not about romance, but about cosplay! If this is the case, they don't make the female lead head over heels for the male lead from episode 5 onwards, teasing us multiple times and also giving us a confession from Martin while Gojo is sleeping. So the main plot next to the cosplay for sure is romance.

And boy this romance does develop slowly. Even Zom 100 gave us a confession over 40 chapters earlier

it’s one of the reasons i prefer 2.5d seduction to MDD within the romance adjacent cosplay genre. i love both for different reasons but there’s more character development in 2.5d. but that’s not a knock on MDD at all i had a blast watching/reading it but i wish it would choose whether or not it wants to commit to the romance it supposedly is.

Totally agree. I enjoyed MDD aswell but for me it would have even better to mot drag out this romance so much as they are doing now.

I watched it last week, and was surprised how much I enjoyed it. I'm pretty sure the second season will be soon coming. I expect season 2 next year, maybe Q4.

till now the manga has content only for season 2. Since the anime is mostly about cosplay the thing you ask of might come very late

season 1 adapted 42 or so chaps, till now manga has 98 chaps, so definitely next year so sure. These kinda animes never get 12+ episodes per season.
