| First of all, Near didn't even have ownership of the Death Note; when Mikami saw Near's real name, he also saw his lifespan with his Shinigami Eyes, and as we were told many times, the Shinigami Eyes don't see the lifespan of Death Note owners. So the fact that Mikami saw Near's lifespan makes it clear that Near wasn't the owner of the swapped Death Note. Also I'm not sure why you're bringing Misa into the scenario; she had no involvement in Light's plans towards the end of the series and she didn't even have the Shinigami Eyes anymore once Mikami became the new Kira because she gave up ownership of her Death Note. |
| A while since I saw the show but I thought Misa was basically not involved towards the end. She wasn't that smart anyway. |
