Anyone think so? I feel like the only reason for this season is because of the demand of fans wanting more light-hearted comedy.

But now I think this is getting carried away from what made K-ON! so special. I mean it has been 6 episodes and we still haven't seen them play a single song.

The 6 episodes so far just seems like fillers to keep us laughing, but I think it has done it in a extreme manner. Don't get me wrong, I mean I love the senseless and light-hearted comedy a lot, but I really wish they get back on the plot, playing at Budokan before they graduate.

What do you guys think?

If you follow the manga, you wouldn't be surprised with what's happening now. There's only so much you can do with the show anyways.

I agree, this whole season feels like a cheap merchandise plug and nothing else, the plot doesn't advance, first season contained a lot of moe blob but the characters grew and the plot was the focus now is basically "Mio is scared" "Yui is a cute idiot" etc etc.
I really enjoyed season one but as i said on one of my posts,it seems as if all the exaggerations that haters said about season 1 are coming true in season 2

As far as I'm aware, it's following the manga.

I agree. Now, in the episode 6 i saw Yui doing random (moe) things, shoes+voices and a snail in the rain.

The girl are moe, and i love this. But i agree when you say then these 6 episodies are like fillers.

There's not much that K-On can offer except for moeblob... and some comedy.

I have to agree that K-On!! has become meh.

Indeed. It may be because I've read most of the manga, but I'm simply bored of this now. I want more music and less crap.

I'm actually enjoying this season more than the first. While the first was good it felt too fast. Like any anime show that plans to be 20+ episodes, they start slow and build into it. I'm sure as the series goes along it will probably pick up with their "music career" stuff.

Actually, I don't think this season is anything worse (or better, for that matter) than the first one. K-ON is just a simple and fairly cute moeblob series and has never pretended to be anything else. The second season doesn't stray away from that premise. Now more lives would always be better, but episodes like the last one (7) are just so heartwarming, I'd rather see more of that than Bokudan. (And come on, Houkago Tea Time performing in Bokudan, now that would be unrealistic.)

No, that's Lucky Star you're describing.

K-ON!! is a totally different story.

Nope, it's just like the manga... in fact the anime adds more.

I'm getting the feeling that the characters are killing the series not the fans or anything else. Don't get me wrong, K-ON is ok but it's just the characters most aren't for me. Azusa is good, and I'm starting to warm up to Yui a lot.

I'm liking this season a lot, I can't tell if it's better than the first season or not, it's more like the same feeling but its possible to become even better than the first season, the episode 7 was beautiful, it was the best episode of K-ON! series so far, at least in my opinion.

I find it funny that people expect this show to be about story and music. I learned that the hard way with the first season and was majorly, sorely, disappointed by this moeblob BS. Now I know just to expect vignettes, stand alone episodes about them being all cute and drinking tea. Do what I did and watch BECK if you want to see a anime that's actually about music

the show is fine the way it is. I don't even really like this genre, but the show is just....nice. Nothing too heavy, just light, funny, enjoyable television.

Season 1 had more music related things such as Yui purchasing the guitar (Guitah?) and learning how to play. There were very little moe stuff compare to this season.

I gotta say they're focusing more on the cutesy antics than the whole "friends chilling out & playing music" thing I liked about the 1st season. I'm not expecting anything serious out of it, but nowadays the focus on music is way less than it was a season ago. However, if the new season gave me something, it was even more appreciation of Azusa, the two underclassmen who are interested in joining the club, & Nodoka

To defend K-ON!!, there's actually more songs here: the mellow school anthem, the acoustic rain song by Yui and Ui, the folk rendition of Fude Pen, HTT's Pure Pure Heart, the turtle song, the auxiliary verb song, and Death Devil's Love.

That's seven in just ten episodes, as compared to just three songs in season one's 13 (plus one OVA) episodes. We didn't even hear Curry Nochi Rice's vocals.

Not only that, the music genre also diversified. Maybe some of you just didn't notice it because we became used to hearing the songs when they perform on stage, not in light scenes.
