Just found out that the singer for the first OP song, X-encounter, Maon Kurosaki had passed away a few days ago due to the chronic illness caused by an epidural hematoma she had back in 2021. Tokyo Ravens first OP is one of the best OP I've ever listen to and the song is part of my anisong playlist that I often played. From what I know, she likes anime and used to dream creating songs for anime (feats she has achieved multiple times with many anime such as this, HotD, Index, Grisaia, and Jormungand). Even though I can't confirm this, I heard/read/see that other people that know or have met her speaks kindly of her. Other noteworthy thing about her is that she would study the source material before making songs for the anime that she is part of. News of her passing saddened me and probably the rest of the community. Thank you for everything, rest in peace Maon Kurosaki-san.

Beautiful post for her remembrance. She was one of my Anime song idols. I've been listening to her since I was 15 from her work in the ending themes of High School of the Dead. I also enjoyed her work in Index, Tokyo Ravens, and as the lead vocals in Altima, in Strike the Blood and Shana. I had planned to work with her in the future as I make Anime Rap music and we follow the same process of studying the Anime we make music for on top of loving Anime ourselves. Her passing was a big heartbreak for me, and I can't imagine how Kawada-san and Kotoko feels, as they've worked with her for years. I'll make a tribute song in her honor and have had her on repeat since she passed. As artists, we know we live on through the impact we've made on the planet through our music and legacy. She has done very well touching hearts and will love forever. Rest up Kurosaki-san ❤️
