we know that how animes tend to cover an entire volume worth of content in 3 to 4 episodes i think it's pretty good to see ln being adapted into movies even though it still could have cut content but it's a much better and health option for audience and animators as they get a pretty good schedule

Well I don't have any objections as long as they don't skip anything, and from the first movie I can't say that it was faithful to the 1st volume, but it was a fine adaptation. The 1st 2eps of s1 was comparatively better imo. Also it won't be as popular as a series. Just like how many people skipped Ordinal Scale, even tho it had way better animation then s3 part 1, and the story and new AR concept was also great.

No, it wasn't.
The movie format literally forced this horrible situation we have currently, they now HAVE to skip the elf war floors, think about it, the elf war didn't finish in the lastest volume(8), so now after this movie, they will need to either skip even MORE floors, or to go back and adapt the floors they skipped in a TV series, it was a bad decision.
BTW, they didn't even announce a new movie in the post credits now, I wonder why?

In most cases, the MAL Average Scores don't mean anything, here is a question: were the works made before 2000 all shit?
Why are they so damn scarce in the Top 50? Think about how MAL is quite literally a filtered amount of the Anime fanbase.

Here's a timeline of the Top 15 in which you can check that, almost always, the scores are affected by the freshness, popularity and other factors that have nothing to do with quality.

Actually, it was a dreadful Idea. I don't know what the heck were they thinking turning Progressive into Movie that also by skipping the Floor. It should have been an anime series and with that it would have reached to wider audience but now they turned it into a disaster of movie, it is not doing any good in box office either. If they really wanted to make a movie, they should have gone with original like Ordinal scale but not the book. That is what most of the popular IP do. I also think this is gonna be the last movie in Progressive project because there is really not any logical reason to adapt another movie with all these skipping, omitting and original characters that transpired throughout the latest movie. I also believe this is the end of Progressive project.

@Abysmal_Saint76
I also believe this is the end of Progressive project.
that is not true, if you believe it is the last of SAOP. They just taking a break because the remaining arc is the elf war quest so its the project on hiatus. And SAO has more content to adapt like side stories and AGGO s2.

And yes anime series is my choice too, but movie is good too. Both have pros and cons.

Author is milking it for profits. But I enjoy every new SAO production.
