No I don't think you're overthinking this! I thought the same thing! I wonder if the cat is the Sensei in disguise or if the cat is one of his adversaries collecting intel for him? it's really interesting!

Well, the manga is only ahead of the anime by one chapter so far. So there's nothing there.

That's actually a reasonable theory. I like it. And it would make so much sense if it was actually the case. I've always been curious about Murr. I really hope to see that theory be true. We'll just have to wait and see.

This might be right. Actually my idea was that The Sensei was the one stole Lunas name. i think he refers to that time when he says you havent met me in this shape. Just my theory tho

I do think that there is a secret about Murr but not the sensei being him. I think the sensei met Vanitas in the past before but we haven't seen this part animated. When we see another back story of Vanitas then I think we'll see him in his other form.

Honestly I’ve been thinking that as well, but what doesn’t sit well with me it’s that it’s too obvious, so it’s highly probable that Murr isn’t sensei. I do however believe that the sensei/grandfather has met Vanitas, but I think they either met before Vanitas was captured and experimented on, or in his time with Luna. It’d be cool if the sensei was the vampire who killed his dad though.

He is a cat but not murr, remember at the end of episode 6 in part 2, we see a bigger cat that looked like murr. That's the shapeless one. Look at the page 9 of chapter 43.
