Yes, this takes place before the movie so you can watch it after series still you can watch it aswell after finishing the last movie.

I personally watched it after the main story, to feel like I still have more of VE to enjoy.
It does happen before the final movie, but then again, Violet Evergarden is episodic for the most part so it doesn't make a difference at which point you watched it if you've seen the series

Yes, this takes place before the movie. You can watch it right after season 1, there's also an ova which takes place before this one, so you can watch that too before this if you're interested, it doesn't have anything to do with the main story so you can watch it or leave it.

There is an order to watch the show which I followed during my time with the show but it’s not necessary.
If you want to follow the order it goes like this:
Episodes 1-4
Ova
Episodes 5-13
This movie
Final movie

Some parts can seem off with context but it’s still the same experience regardless. With the ova you should watch before both movies regardless but it’s up to you how you want to experience the show.

True. That's how I watched it. Though it doesn't really have an effect on the main storyline.
