Did Subaru told you that? I mean, he can cry tears of blood but it's not like he'll get a free ticket to go see them. In season 2 you can see that he didn't lived a rose colored life, seeing them means going back to hell. Now he literally gets killed from time to time along with the people he cares about. Too many shit are happening in the present, in reality thinking about the past is the last thing he needs to do.

Because the plot says he shouldn't worry about it yet. A lot of stuff in this series are heavy handed.
