Looking for anime/manga/light novel with a traumatized protagonist.

Looking for a protagonist traumatized by an event that happened either in the source, or before hand. This shouldn't be the usual 'love interest kisses mc and makes it better again' thing, but rather an event that effects our protagonist in such a large way that it constantly changes the way they act, speak or generally live out life.
EXAMPLES:
Tokyo Ghoul- Most people should know this. Kaneki was greatly affected by his torture, leading him to do many things later that he never would have done, and never forgets about that certain event.
Vinland Saga- After the death of Thors, Thorfinn becomes angry and vengeful and this eventually leads himself into a life of danger. This event effects his life all throughout the manga.
Arifureta-In this light novel, Haijime finds himself trapped in a dungeon of sorts, essentially betrayed by people he trusted. He usues this event to completely rewrite his morals and goals. This event leads to a drastic personality change, much like Kaneki.
