Does this anime have an ending?

Hi people, im aware that this anime ended before the manga so the ending will be different. Since im not much of a manga reader and I really loved this anime as a kid id really love to watch it. So my question is did this anime get an actual ending and if so, despite being rushed was it sort of "conclusive" or did they just end at cliffhanger.
