The Beach episode, poorly written MC-abusing tsunderes, the token loli who doesn't contribute to the story in any way, MC being a bitch, token harems, flat love interest who whole life revolves around MC (excluding the Yandere for obvious reasons), MC BEING LAME, many others that have slipped my mind.

Tropes don't change, they are tropes for a reason.

What changes are the conventions.

Things become tropes through our conventions, mostly through repetition. Thats why people learn to recognize them over time, not on instinct.
