Characters:
Rue (ルー, Ru) - derived from the English word rue which means regret
Mint (ミント, Minto) - derived from the English word "mint", which is an aromatic plant native to temperate regions of the Old World, several kinds of which are used as culinary herbs. She could be a reference to Minthe, a nymph who was transformed into a mint plant, in Greek Mythology.
Ruecian (Doll Master) (ルシアン, Rushian ???) - Ruecian is derived from "Rue" and "Lucian", which is a pun for "Lucifer".
Claire - Her name is French for "Clear". Also a real female name.
Maya - She is a reference to Maya, the Goddess of Illusions and Magic, in Hindu Mythology.
Elena - Elena is a female name; Elena probably means "Light" in Greek (or in a different language).
Dr. Klaus - He's probably named after "Dr. Klaus" the author of the book, "The Einstein Tower". (if I'm not mistaken.)
Mira - She's probably named after the Hindu Mystic Poet, "Meera", or the Malayalam Actress, "Meera" (an Indian Actress). (if I'm not mistaken.)
Rod - His name is probably derived from "Rod", which is a thing straight piece or bar of material, such as metal or wood, which could be a reference to him being a weaponsmith.
Johnny Wolf (Rod's Dog) - His name is derived from "Johnny" and "Wolf", which is probably a reference to "Jonny Quest" and his pet dog, "Bandit"


Villains:
Blood and Smokey - Derived from "Blood" and "Smokey".
Belle - French for "Beautiful".
Duke - His name is derived from "Duke" (a man of very high rank in the British nobility).
Starlight Duke - Derived from "Starlight" and "Duke".
Mode Master - Derived from "Mode" and "Master".
Psycho Master - Derived from "Psycho" and "Master".




Monsters:
Pollywog - It is a reference to a "Pollywog".
Mandola - The name and design are derived from "Mandrake".
Saber Tiger - It is a reference to a "Saber-toothed Tiger".
Stinger - His name is derived from "Sting" and the suffix "-er", and his design is derived from a "Hedgehog", a "Raccoon", and a "Porcupine".
Gargoyle - It is a reference to a "Gargoyle".
King Ant - His name and design are derived from "King" and "Ant".
Gudon - His name is derived from "Iguanadon", and the design is derived from "Salamander", the fire elemental.
Imp - It is a reference to an "Imp".
Fungie - His name and design are derived from "Fungus".
Cockadoo - Short for "cockadoodledoo", the sound of a rooster.
Puppet - It is a reference to a "Puppet".
Specter - It is a reference to a "Specter".
Skeleton - It is a reference to a "Skeleton".
Ootang - The name is derived from "Orangutan", and its design is a reference to a monkey.
Fire Blob - The name and design are derived from "Fire" and "Blob".
Bubba - Derived from the slang term, "Bubba", a southern derivation on the word "Brother".
Black Pollywogs - The name and design are derived from "Black" and "Pollywogs".
Wabbit - The name and design are derived from "Wing" and "Rabbit".
Pumpkin - The name and design are derived from "Pumpkin".
Witch - It is a reference to a witch.
Behemoth - It is a reference to the Behemoth.
Shaolon - The name is derived from "Shaolong" (少龙, Shǎo lóng), which is Chinese for "less dragon" or "little dragon", and the design is derived from "Velociraptor"; In Japanese/Chinese Culture, dinosaurs are considered dragons.
Hellhound - It is a reference to a Hellhound.
Jinn - It is a reference to a Djinn and a Goblin.


Nightmare - It is a reference to the fictional dark horse, "Nightmare".
Skull Beast - The name and design are derived from "Skull" and "Beast".
Cloud Whale - The name and design are derived from "Cloud" and "Whale".
Chimera - It is a reference to the Chimera in Greek Mythology.
Wylaf the Dragon - "Wylaf" means "Cry"/"Weep" in Welsh; he is a reference to a Dragon.
Gorotan - He's probably a reference to the Chesire cat in "Alice in Wonderland."




Items:
- Book of Cosmos - A Book that contains spells and magical powers
- Dewprism (デュープリズム, Dyūpurizumu) - Derived from "Dew", as in dew drop, and "Prism".


Weapons:
- Arc Edge (Rue's Weapon) - Derived from "Arc" and "Edge"; it's probably a reference to the Axe.
- Hexagon (Belle and Duke's Machine) - An ancient gear-like machine; it's name is a reference to the hexagon shape because the top view of its design is shape like a hexagon; it's design is derived from a Machine.
- Chakram Rings (Mint's Magical Rings) - Derived from "Chakram", a disc-like throwing weapon originally from India, and "Rings"; it's probably a reference to two Hula hoops.




Clarification:
(ルシアン, Rushian) - This is from taking a wild guess since I can't find a resource anywhere on the internet.
